Hi AAI,

Please register at www.proavenues.com/cfa - The online test will be available by Wednesday. The link to the test will be sent to you by email.

The registration form is for both the classroom test in Mumbai and the online test that will start soon. Also the CEO will be organizing a Gyaan session which they are hoping to broadcast over the internet.

Hi AAI,

The same registration form can be used for the online exam as well - www.proavenues.com/cfa - The online exam will be set up by Wednesday and you will receive the user name password by email.

Also, they are planning to setup a web conference for the gyaan session by the Elan Guides CEO. Once you register, you will also receive the details by email/sms.

Once you register, you will receive the details of the exam as well as your username password by email / SMS.

Also, they are planning to have a web conference of the Gyaan session by the Elan Guides CEO after the mock test. To get the details, you have to register as well.

a $1000 par value,10% semiannual , 20 year debenture is currently selling for $1100. The bond's current yield % is

I calculated as N=40,PV=-1100,FV=1000, PMT=50 to get I/Y=4.46 so yield should be 8.9 but the answer says calculate like
100/1100=9.1%.

I'm unable to comprehend

Hey dextar,

The "current yield" by definition is (Annual Coupon Payment)/(Present value of the bond) which is reflected in the answer. You calculated yield to maturity(YTM) but the question asks you to calculate current yield.

I found this ques in one of the Schweser sample exams....cud'nt get how to go abt it....Plz help.....
The ques is as follows:

The owner of a bowling alley determined that the averege weight for a bowling ball is 12 pounds with a standard deviation of 1.5 pounds . A ball denoted "heavy" should be one of the top 2% based on weight. Assuming the weights of bowling balls are normally distributed, at what weight (in puonds) should the "heavy" designation be used?

(A) 14.22 pounds.

(B) 14.00 pounds.

(C) 15.08 pounds.

CORRECT ANSWER : 15.08

You are calculating the Nominal yield.Current yeild is PMT/Market price of bond
