Yeah, even I am finding it too costly. But I come from an engineering background, so was worried if 3 months are enough to prepare for CFA, considering I am about to start with basics of finance.
P.S : I am appearing for L1 in Dec

Hi Guys,
I still have my query unanswered.
The notes provided by the vendors are they in sync with the current exam curriculum?
can we rely on this..
Also I learnt that for Level I referrring schweser notes are more than enuf....is it?
@ cfa_knight.
u will get the xerox notes for june 2010 only by last week of october or by mid november. xerox notes available in laxmi xerox centre at present are for dec 09. portion for cfa changes by atleast 5% in every 6 months.

Hey Bro ,
Most of my friends who have appeard seem pretty satisfied with them . Plus they cleared so i'm pretty confident of the notes and the material too .. Of-course you do realize that the notes alone do not guarantee anything right 😉

1900 huh ... i haven't got the calci yet but yeah 1900 seems reasonable enough . Should not be an issue .

So Sneha , using the Dec 2009 version shouldn't really make that much of a difference right ? Plus when the institute sends out their material we should be able to cover the changed 5-10 % right ?
Progress comes to those who train and train; reliance on secret techniques will get you nowhere.
-Morihei Ueshiba
With that quote let me reply to people who want to base their studies on DVDs, Schweser/Stalla notes, fancy calculators...
....Cmon guys, start studying first! We have ample time left for the exam.
If our progress is fine for the next 4-5 months, then surely we can go for notes(do u really want to pay for notes made by someone else?...question bank alone is worth buying)
....Even if some of us clear Level -I using shortcut, it is bound to backfire in Level -2 or 3. Better get use to the idea of putting in hours to study.
I find CFA institute's instructions very helpful. Finish off the course first. 18 study sessions in 18 weeks. Make it 20 weeks. Atleast understand it once. Then get the notes and start practising.
And please don't try studying "weightage"-wise....as somebody suggested.
Another thing....I have got my study material....finished 1 study session in 1 week...
Let's see which one of you finishes off your 1st session next....
Cmon people...let's be accountable to each other...that's the only way to
stay motivated.
