@ani.davv dear you should devote 3-4 hrs -a-day with concentration, & should manage your time according to your syllabus .. i'll suggest you to start with Ethics & FRA as these are scoring subjects ..
Hi.. guys ...Here are some exam tips, i want to share as exam is so close so be aware:o 2 sessions of 3 hrs each: 1st half begins at 9am and you get 120 questions, then 2 hrs break and then 2nd sessions begins at 2pm – 120 questions. Focus equally on both sessions.o No Negative making: 240 multiple choice questions with 3 options, if you don't know an answer eliminate the obviously incorrect answer and make a guess for remaining options. Don't leave any question unmarked.o Don't spend too much time on one question, you should spend approx 1.5 min/question, if you are unable to solve it move ahead.
o Don't leave any subject: The passing score is the weighted average score of all the subjects, so you have toprepare for all the subjects.
o Score high in Ethics, FSA, Fixed Income & Quants: These are high weighted subjects, and good score in these will increase your chances of clearing the exam. It's compulsory to pass in Ethics to clear the exam.
All The Best..

Hi puys,
i have started off with the ethics portion.. i know it should be taken at the last, as it has more to be memorised than to be logically connected and remembered, but being from an engineering background and currently a software engg., but aspiring for an investment profession, i think starting off with such theoretical thing gives kind off insider look with the help of the ethics notes examples being given.
Bytheway, i am self studying from the schweser notes and right now in Delhi, anybody preparing for Level 1 from NCR.. it would be a pleasure to have some discussions.
Hi,
I am a pre-final year engineering student at IIT-Kharagpur. Currently I am pursuing mining engineering and frankly want to change my job opportunity sector.
I am interested in joining finance sector, grab a good job and earn a 7 figure salary in 3-5 years.
So basically I came to know about CFA and have been reading about and researching about it from past 2 days.
I want information about how difficult it is to crack the exam. The much reading I have doing tells me that you only require a 6-month disciplined study of about 2-3 hours everyday(that seems to be easy and comfortable task) to crack the exam and about 38% of all candidates qualify level-1 exam. Is it that easy?
Is that true and how many candidates appear globally and from India annually?
Is CFA recognized by investment firms in India and what are job opportunities for CFA Level-1 & level-2 qualifiers in India?

Hello Friends ,

I only have the softcopies, and that too of dec 2012 exam.. since there are not many changes for 2013 i am preferring it for the preparation. Also these are the scanned pdf's of the actual schweser notes..i downloaded them, these are in pretty good condition, and also you can always take print outs and study.

No its not at all easy, it involves all sort of finance jargons.. and you need to be pretty good at them and a mathematics lover too. Further as you want to change your stream and enter finance sector, it would be advisable for you to go for MBA in finance, and together with it you should prepare for CFA exam as well, the combo is preferred quite a lot in the industry.
And also there is not much of preference for an individual till he holds the complete CFA charter, which comes along with some 4 years of relevant experience and all 3 CFA levels cleared. Till date i believe the count of Indian CFA chart holder remains under 1000.
