CFA Level 1, June 2013

@[582923:FeRMioN] dude, what abt Fixed Income or Ethics ???

@[592008:dakshnjain] don't b worried bro. Even m from engg background...

CFA institute notes, u get only after u register for the exam.
But u can start checking some concepts n overlook the syllabus through Schweser notes.

@[267635:rahuljain2099] Go for CFA if u wanna b investment banker, portfolio manager etc.

Don't know much abt treasury...

Ethics is best done later since the retention is a major problem there.
Fixed Income is same as Bonds

Hi guys,

I have ordered Schweser notes and will be getting in 2-3 days.

Hi Can anyone throw some light on this? Thanks

I have been reading this continuously, and is very helpful. I am planning for cfa june 13 level 1, and I am also doing job, and my background is computers engineering. I am going to start preparation but confused that how to start, and when I encounter problems in preparation how and where I am going to ask them, resolve them. Some one told me that online study group will help you in this, everything will be resolved there.
Is this the place for that? Or where??

Thanks so much.

I agree - you are confused.
Relax and spend some time to read the CFA forums - there are many - 90% of your queries will be answered. eg: your question of where to start has been answered many times in a different forum.
Then post specific queries - do not give general statements. Someone will answer you - people are very helpful here.

@[592008:dakshnjain] yup bro, don't b nervous or demotivate urself.

together v all gonna crack d exam.
keep d spirit...
:)

@[589182:Vaibhav1438] thanks vaibhav so much.
please tell me one more thing. what schedule i have to maintain, i am not saying that tell me a time table :p...i am just asking that how much time i should target to complete one topic...i am just scared that while preparing for any topic, i will give all time to it to complete it in depth and by doing so i will get out of time.
please help.

@[592008:dakshnjain] buddy v r having ample of time for the exam.

if v start preparing from now, a sincere effort of 1-1.5 hr is enough if u r doing a job or education.
Otherwise u can increase the study duration as per your routine.
Also on the weekends v can give some extra time.

Now that registration for June 2013 Level 1 has started, it is a good time to plan for and start studies keeping a target date in mind.

It may be a bit early, but it is always good to start early and be prepared.
