Yeah its true that the condition in excise w.r.t. promotions is pathetic. People have hardly reached AC that too in their ultimate years. List seems Ok to me but note one thing that in cypher duty is shiftwise and can be in night too. Moreover promotions are less too. The + though is you get more foreign postings and for longer period

Its random yaar, u can't influence it unless u have a jack in DoPT
Work culture and type is same in all assistants. CSS entails highest promotion aspects w.r.t. the other assistant posts. The MEA has its own charm of foreign postings. Railways give u railway passes n double bonus. Generally all are delhi based except for MEA(foreign postings)

@secretworld Hi I have got 341 in tier 1+ tier 2.. I heard that you have got an auditor post . Can you please let me know how is auditor post ? What are the Central Govt facilities? What are the career prospects in auditing in terms of money etc.

@secretworld bro accountant is a dignified job.. he is only responsible to the executive engginerr. u dun hvae to ask for money... its a decent job .. though no promotions..
@secretworld,thanks!i am already 28 & nearing 29 so what are my chances for getting to US rank in CSS.i mean how much time it takes to get there.if chances are not good then i will fill ITI/similar posts at higher preference else it is CSS.also for MEA posting i am guessing you can get position in any Indian embassy around the world with developed countries(like US/UK/France etc) hardest to get & developing/south asian/african nations easiest to get or does it depend on some type of test/performance(like some foreign language proficiency).

Auditor post is gud. Promotionwise again best as you can go up to Director/DAG GP-7600. Central govt facilities include CGHS(health),LTC,Accomodation(if u get it), prestige. Nothing much.
If u remain in field audit TA/DA wud be there. Extra is there in audit but not at HQs like Delhi but in sides money making is going on 😃 Travelling would be extensive if u want to earn xtra money
The only thing this deptt needs is that u shud be in continuous reading mode for both promotions n auditing.

If u can clear depttl exams in 1 go then u can xpect to be US in 14 years else by seniority u wud be US it wud take 19-20 years. My suggestion put IT before CSS as although promotions r gud in css power n prestige wise IT provides better satisfaction to ego. U can xpect to be director in CSS but I dont think you would be there for more than 1-1.5 year with your age. Deputy sectty confirm hai tumhara.
In MEA yes postings would depend on your foreign assignments and jack but start would be from ldc's only or troubled areas.

Ya p u r right . promotion is to Assistant Account officer lyk AAO and then Account officer and then Sr. AO. N pay scales are same too.I don't know abt their rise further i would ask n tell

I am nt reluctant to work in coastal cities bt wnt go Delhi as it is too far from my place. Also need time to prepare for State PSC.

if u don't want delhi don't ever put assistants in ur options as even if u don't prefer delhi in state option it would still be looked upon. IT is gud , if u r happy to work with coastal areas put examiner above IT after that u can go for PO AEO n excise. CBN wud be in MP UP n Rajasthan only so keep that in mind
