Commission will be holding Combined Graduate Level Examination,2012 for recruitment to different posts for which Graduation from a recognized University is the minimum Educational Qualification. The Examination will comprise of two Tiers of Written Objective Type examination followed by Computer Proficiency Test/ Interview/Skill test, wherever applicable as per the Scheme of Examination. Posts have been placed in two groups, inter-alia, based on their Grade Pay and papers in Tier II examination/Interview. Preference for Posts, is to be indicated in the application. Candidates are requested to note that preference for Posts once exercised will be final. Request for change of preference will not be considered under any circumstance. For the post of Assistant in CSS, candidate shall have not more than three attempts unless covered by any of the exceptions notified by Government of India.

ssc clearly mentioned the preferneces and states in tier2 admit card which ssc did not in tier1 admit card thats why we cannot do anything in preferences

It is not like to challenge or raise issue against any Commission or Head of the Commission, it is just like a request format that only we can do. What so all is mentioned in Notice or as per Notice, it is all fine, but sometimes it happen that Laws or Rules could be modified for betterment. There are chances to have that change to post the people at proper places. As SSC Chief has provided us a facility to reach him through Tweet, we can request or ask him int he sense that the point could be considered. Although we can take it like it is difficult to happen.

Iss baar detailed preferences to le liya hai par agar request theek se ki jaye to kaam ban jayega. 2010 me preferences bundled form me li jaati thi. For example agar asst. ko prefer kiya to saare assistants wale post allocate kiye jayenge aur baaki baad me. Maine chief ko tweet kiya tha ki please preference choose karne ka independence de taki css prefer karne ke baad koi chahe excise prefer kare aur phir chahe to railways. Pata nahi unhone mere kehne par aisa kiya ya apne aap hi unke dimag me yeh aa gaya ki kya sahi hai. Itni saari vacancies hai aur candidates bhi kam nahi hai. Unhe bhi maximum candidates select karne hai. Isiliye yeh possible hai ki agar acchi sankhya me request mile to woh phir se preferences select karne ka mauka de.
If people do not get the desired post(if they secure required marks) due to the preferences they opted, many of them would be appearing for the exam next time also. To avoid this process like people join and then they appear in the exam again, if get desired post -> resign from current post, now SSC again would need to fill that vacant post, will schedule exam and would be a repeated process. Better ask people for their choice after having results in front of them.
comparative performance depends on preparation of the particular candidate last year and this time ... so you can't generalise.... still such a huge drop indicates that maybe last time you gave your best but something went wrong this time.
Fine...But I still feel I have given my best and still hoping the best...lets see ...Scores may vary based on normalisation too. This year tier 1 my friend expected 86 and me 98. He saw my paper and felt its easier than that he have given. In the end he got 95.5 and me 98. So we realised that is because of normalisation. In fact last year tier 2 the paper is same for all......
the method you are suggesting is the best way to fill the posts because this way we can reduce the number of selected candidates appearing next year to a large extent.
this type of method is used for it and aieee.
once the candidate gets the rank he or she is aloowed to choose watever he wants out of the options available for those marks.
