this is a baseless thing. if this publishing after 1.5 month of options locking was necessary then it would be as gud as publishing this corrigendum even after interview

Absolutely, he hs said that refilling again vud delay the result by 45 days, bt i think "It is better to be late than to be never" ...This refilling cud have triggered hopes of many candidates of getting their desired posts....but since now Chief himself has tweeted, i think its all over now...Nothing cud be done...

bhai it was related to the fact that no further refilling would be allowed once exercised, although this was published in 30th june employment newspaper much later after we had exercised the options, so hw does this help is the question

in noi case we could have changed the option they must have placed this corr before we had exercised option or at least before last date of filling of form

see, the application process was open in April-May
Lakhs of candidates submitted their application well before June.
And this corrigendum was published in Employment news on June 30. i.e. 2 days before tier 1 exam
how do they expect candidates to re-submit application?

Actually, this gives us a very valid point.
See, they acknowledge the mistake in the initial notice, that is why they published a corrigendum. but this was published too late that it was literally incapable of solving the first problem. So, our case still stands. simple!
According to the notice, CLOSING DATE was 20.04.2012. And they published the corrigendum on June 30. a bunch of jokers!!

I m neither in support nor against this move but i believe that either sscchief shouldn't have said anything abt this corrigendum . its a baseless thing, i would have been more convinced by the fact if chief had said that its their discretion, but taking this corrigendum as point for nt allowing refilling is ridiculous.
Its like taking representation for mistakes in paper after the result has been announced

I feel even going to court will not suffice as i went thru notification and under "IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES" section at point# 1 it has been mentioned:
"Preference for Posts, is to be indicated in the application. Candidates are requested to note that preference for Posts once exercised will be final. Request for change of preference will not be considered under any circumstance."

hello all, i also was hoping that the mistake would be realised and we would be allowed to refill preferences. But today's tweet by SSCchief has destroyed that hope.
Like secretworld said, according to SSCchief's tweet, he admits that the initial notice for cgl12 had some ambiguity about filling of preferences. that is why there was a need for the corrigendum. so there is a clear case that despite it being written that no change will be allowed, the presence of a contradicting statement led to some amount of uncertainty on the policy. This uncertainty was recognised by SSC itself hence they issued the corrigendum. But it was too late to be useful.
Also such corrigendum was not published on the website which at this date, happens to be the first point of contact between the SSC and the candidates.
so, even after being diligent a large number of candidates had no access to such notice of change in policy and those who did chance upon it could not do anything about it as the application date was already over. We in good faith hoped that this issue would be addressed in a responsible manner by the commision and brought it to SSCchief's notice in an unofficial channel via twitter.
But the response has been contrary to out expectations and we believe that unjustice has been served to us.
So we have no option but to approach a court of law in this matter.
I am not a lawyer and only have a limited understanding, but i believe IF we unite and represent in a court of law, we have a very good chance to get a ruling in our favour. those of us who have a lawyer in the family should ask their opinion in the matter.
please dont be lazy and let this opportunity pass, it could change our entire lives. dont think that we can give it again next year because, vacancies may decrease next year, you never know what kind of paper you will have next year. there are rumors of cgl becoming subjective, the present chief will retire in feb2013 and who knows if the next one will be able to conduct it freely or it will become an auction like some state service commisions. some people will cross age limit, some might get too busy in other jobs that we get in between.
so lets take this seriously and do something about this.
