those who think promotions are fast in p.o. and exam. should check this link
this is seniority list of appraisers clearly mentioning date of joining as po as well as date of promotion to appraiser.
latest it took atleast 12 yrs(that too in very few cases) to get first promotion otherwise it generally takes 15-18 yrs for first promotion.
i m not saying that these posts are bad or not good , but just want u people to be aware of the fact that it takes atleast 24-28 yr to become asst. comm. for a p.o. and 19-21 yr for an examinor....you can see this on the website of cbec itself...
just for the knowledge of those who are filling form this year...best of luck

Have seen the document.
Wat I got from it is, those who are born in 70s became superintendents in their 30s, ie they are diectly recruited as POs and many who got it late are born in 50s and 60s. A person born in 1972 became Sup in 1996, ie at the age of 34. Its good enough right. No one here said tht promotions for PO are fast, few mentioned that they are for Examiner and ITI.
Also no one goes for PO as first pref unless in a rare case where it happens.
