Boss thats why we all here,to share knowledge.
So my explanation to ans is..
a player in 9 innings made some runs and by made 100 runs in 10th innings his average is increased by 8 runs.after 10th innings calculate his total average.
so by going through options..kk...20 runs for first 9 innings so 180 + 100runs of last innings =280 so avg turns out to be 28...so condition of question in met...so 28 is the overall avg..

thank you for your work.

ha i have a trick as well..

lets say in 10th innings: he made 100 runs
by which he incresed the average
by 8 runs
that means he gave
8runs to all 9 player and he is left with 28 runs...that is the average.
previous average is 20.

lets try
Q 5,27,61,122,213,340,509 find the wrong one
27
61
122
509
Q 165,195,255,285,345,?
375
390
420
435
Q 24,60,120,210,?
300
336
420
525
ques 1 (27) series is n^3-3
ques 2 (375) 30 and 60 is added alternatively
ques 3 (336) n^3-n

most of the series given revolve around 4 types
1. difference (find difference b/w no's)
2. cube, squares
3. multiply/ divide
4. alternative series
if u are not able to spot the series right away go with this order for practice

Q on averages1.
In a class there are 35 students.after adding 7 new students the expenses goes up by 42 rs. while the average cost decreses by re 1. what were the expenses occuring on the food per day previously.
400
420
432
442
total expenses earlier = 35*x ( let x be average exp)
total expenses now = (42*(x-1))
as per ques
42*x-42 = 42+ 35*x
7*x = 84
x= 12
total previous exp = 12*35 = 420

20
24
28
32
avg inc by 8 so 9*8 = 72 runs utilized for increasing avg
left = 28 = new avg

Facts to remember:-

1) (a^n - b^n) will always be divisible by (a-b).

2) (101^1 - 1) to (101^9 - 1) will be divisible by 100
(101^10 - 1) to (101^99 - 1) will be divisible by 1000,
therefore (101^100 - 1) will be divisible by 10,000.

These questions are commonly asked, so its best to remember these 2 facts.

4) a) 441 b) 256 c) 361 d) 481

4) a) 441 b) 256 c) 361 d) 481

481 is not a perfect square of any integer.

2) 6:35::9:?

6*6 -1 = 35 ; Similarly 9*6- 1 = 53
3) a) 3216 b) 2338 c) 3205 d) 2015

Digit-sum of (d)-2015 is 8 which is only even digit-sum, others are giving odd digit sum
