Okay, silly/naive question.
Where/how do you think the IIM tag matters? Personal opinion is that the suffix is way more important than the first three letters, but am happy to be contradicted.
ABCL are tags. To suggest XYZ college is a "tag", just because it is an IIM feels weird .
Again, all of this in a corporate setting - not talking about rishtedar, shaadi, etc. Having spoken to a decent amount of people (higher ups in fin+ headhunters and HR folk), the only conclusion I have been able to draw is that ABCL are "tags", they will really help you - for everyone else (includes the top non IIMs as well), it depends solely on you - track record, career path, etc.

Need advice : cat 2015 : 97.4,cat 2016:97.7 , 10th :93.1,12th:92.4,btech :9.15 which converts to 86.5 % (Thanks to NIT Durgapur's conversion rules ) , working in TATA Motors since august 2016 . 2015 converts - New IIMs,2016 Reject - SP,MDI(waitlisted 143),IIM Shillong(Waitlisted 770),IIFT ... Sure of converting New IIMs ..... Whether I should take admission this year or wait for 1 more year and prepare for cat'17 ?
