#SBI Mutual Fund, the asset management company of SBI, has announced that it would acquire all the existing India- domiciled schemes of Daiwa Mutual Fund. State Bank of India, SBI Mutual Fund Trustee Co Pvt Ltd and SBI Funds Management Pvt Ltd (sponsor, trustee and investment manager of SBI MF respectively) have reached an agreement with Daiwa Asset Management Company to take over all the schemes of Daiwa MF. Post this transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals, all existing schemes of Daiwa MF will become schemes of SBI MF with existing investors coming into the fold of SBI MF.

# India's Central Information Commission has ruled on Monday that India's main political parties must be subject to the Right to Information Act, which allows Indian citizens to seek information from most government bodies. Till now, Political parties have claimed they are not public authorities under the RTI act. Rejecting the claim, CIC said the Indian National Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the Communist Party India, the Nationalist Congress Party and Bahujan Samaj Party have been substantially financed by the central government and should be subject to the RTI.
#Amazon.com, the world's largest online retailer has entered into Indian e-commerce market with the launch of its marketplace Amazon.in which currently offers books, movies and television shows for sale. The company is planning to expand its product footprint to cameras, mobiles and other electronics devices. Amazon will not stock and sell its own products because India's FDI regulations do not allow online multibrand retailers to sell their own products. Amazon has signed up 100 vendors across the country so far and has set up a 1.5 lakh sqft fulfillment centre in Mumbai to service online orders.
#The Union Cabinet on Tuesday cleared a legislation to set up a long-pending real estate regulator to protect home buyers from unscrupulous developers and builders yesterday. A real estate regulator to be set up in every state will ensure that private developers get their projects registered before sale after obtaining all necessary clearances. It will be mandatory for developers under the law to get every project registered with the regulator before selling any immovable property. As of now, the commercial real estate is not covered under the purview of the proposed bill. However, it will apply to residential buildings. The bill has a provision for mandatory public disclosure of all project details such as lay out plan, land status and credentials of promoters etc.
