hey seniors my profile is as follows JMET break up sec 1-7.5 sec 2-17.25 sec 3-14.25 sec 4-11.25 total -50.25 rank-1700 no work x(as m in final yr) B.tech aggr-85% 12th-81% 10th-80% have loads of extra cirriculars...have 2 international paper publications and many project....dont knw if they will help..... plz let me know of my chances at IITM....n also if i shd apply to delhi or not.. thanx
At 1700 you stand a decent chance of getting a call. As we have mentioned earlier the last rank to get into IIT M last year was in 1500s. So you do stand a chance of getting a call. A good essay and your extra curriculars could help.

@1001insane With a rank of 14619 it might be difficult to get a call from DoMS IITM. You may apply but the chances are very slim. While applying, however, you can give attention to your essay as a strong essay might make it for you. All the best.

I have got 173 rank in JMET. I want to apply to IIT Madras. But I have 64.5% avg in all semesters but have second class since my university takes only last 4 semesters avg. Am I eligible? Please let me know.

Yes, you are eligible as IIT Madras and all other IITs consider the aggregate of 8 sems and not 2/4 sems as in the case of VTU or other universities.

In last 2 years, people who have got a dont have a rank more than 2300. But again, it depends upon on the no of applicants, rank and SOP. So, u have a bleak chance of getting a call.

Congratulation Shubham You have a very good rank. Chances of final selection depends a lot on ur GT/PI. For time being jus concentrate on ur acads if u are a fresher and some general knowledge of management. Hope u have been reading papers lately because they come very handy during GD and interviews. We ll be posting detailed GT/PI experiences of students from our batch. One suggestion is during interview just be urself and dnt try to pretend thing u r not because profs are very experienced and they ll catch u on that. Best of luck

Seems difficult with such a rank. The last person in this category to get in was in the range of 9200s. But you can try, with a strong essay that tells the faculty about your reasons to pursue an MBA and evidencing leadership, teamwork, diligence, and academic and extra curricular achievements may swing it your way. Your call will also depend on the no of applications DoMS gets and the cut off rank that the dept decides. All the best.

Extremely slim chances. But as we have said before calls depend on a lot of other things as well like number and type of applications, your profile and SOP etc. So I would suggest that you could just apply and hope for the best

Very very slim chances. At this rank it would be extremely difficult. However, as we have said, the last rank to be called will be determined by the no of applicants, their respective ranks and their essays. You may try doing so, but do so with a very strong and convincing essay.
