What chances do I have? What should I concentrate more upon in preparation of GD-PI


You should get a call from IIT M for GT/Pi, do go through old threads to get a glimpse of what to expect in GT/PI.

will joining and last month salary suffice...or we need to produce something else...

You have a good chance of getting a call but it depends on the no of applicants, there rank and your SOP. So , lets hope for the best.

I have a score of 47.5 with AIR 2504.
Sec1 - 9.75
Sec2 - 21.5
Sec3 - 8.25
Sec4 - 8

I have a work-ex of 26 months in an IT company.

Please suggest which IIT's I should apply. Should I expect a call from IIT Mad?


It would be tough to get a call at this rank, you may get a call from IIT R but do get it confirmed on there college thread.

thanksvish_manit... i am a fresher though but have done lotsa proj.. IBM certified web developer... has anybody with such background but with rank around 2300 ever made it into iit.. n if iitm is not possible, is there a chance at other iit's.. "...

My questions :
1. Most obvious, chances of a call from IIT M ?
2. Regarding the SOPs any general tips ? ( a very vague question... but still worth it )
3. I guess IIT M offers a program on Business Consulting... More info on that... wat its abt and scope ..placements and stuff..

i have a good academic rec as follows:
85.4 in Xth class
85.6 in XIIth class
67.25 in B.E. From Delhi College of Engg
i also have an exp of 1.5 year in telecom domain with MNC(Ericsson)
Do I have any chance of getting call from any iit????
if yes,then to which college i should apply?
pls suggest.all suggestions are welcome.

You may do any of these. But why write it manually when you can take a neat printout and send it in?

You have a chance from getting a call from IITM. Do apply. I can't say that for any other IIT, better inquire on their respective threads. All the best.

1. Yes, you should get a call from IIT M.

3. There are various electives related to Business consulting and hence, give you an option to take up this arm of managment as your minor specialization. Avg placements this year was 8.5 LPA and the details of this can be found out on the thread life@ DoMS, IIT Madras.

PLacements are already done, IIT M gives call on the basis of rank, profile and SOP

It refers to photo attestation by gazetted officer which generally are government officials.

It will be in last week of feb to last week of march spanning over 1 month across 4 cities. Exact dates wil be released in the 1st week of feb.

Hi,

just wanted to know some things regarding some documents to be attached with appn form....

1. Employee certificate:
Do i need to send the original HR signed letter or photocopy it and send...

2. Detailed Marksheets for degree:
This means photocopies of all the marksheets from semester 1 to 8 rite? or the marks of each semester (as my provisional degree also has semester marks in it)


P.S: why is the appn for IITM so cumbersome? so many docs , so many attestations..including attestation of the foto !!!!!!! (my god..never did that b4) :shocked:...... IITK doesnt even ask for a foto, and neither any docs.....

1. Photocopy of employee certificate ll do
2. Photocopy of each semester certificate individually

Well I won't call the application "cumbersome" for simple reason that its a control and check process to make sure that whatever info we get in genuine. If IITK doesn't do this and follows a slack process, its their choice but we choose to be a little careful. hence, little inconvenience to applicants.
