I ve accidentally come across this thread n I was really surprised n anxious at d same time to know about GARP.really thnkful to pg for letting me know about this.Now coming to the point ,I am a btech electrical n having 2 yrs of exp. in power sector.Currently iam working in a supercritical plant as Sr. engg doing all pure technical job ,I am aiming 2 do an MBA from a very good college(cat 2012) n want to have a career in energy consultancy.by reading yours post i really wonder should GARP be done after MBA or an MBA only can fetch me my career goal,although I could take GARP later on if reqd.n also will my pure technical power plant operation be an impediment to get a desired profile in energy consultancy ?

I am an electrical engineer, and have been working in the maintenance section in a gas based power project in NTPC Ltd. I am very much interested in this certification, as i feel it will giv me an edge over my colleagues. But, being in the core electrical (read technical) field, i wonder if it is really suitable for me.. and if it will be an add-on to my current profile.. are ther any other engineers who r planning to take this course/exam..

I work for a PSU oil company , my total exp is 6 yrs in downstream oil marketing operations including past 4 yrs as Incharge of a small oil installation. I came across ERP from GARP while searching for oil pricing. Would like to know with my current exp can I apply for ERP certification exam or an MBA/Finance degree is necessary. Would be thankful if anyone who has completed the certification can share their experience.
