@Sir...Market is up due to following reasons:

1. Govt plans of disinvestment
2. Strong global cues and Asian market doing well
3. Crude is under $ 65/barrel

Factors to watch out for:
1. Quarterly reports of companies
2. Monsoon's progress
3. $ Vs Re

Another reason COULD be : F n O trading happens only on Nifty n not on sensex..Btw bought my first Option - 4700 Call, 27 Aug...:D

but the main reason being Strong global cues and Asian market doing well .. rest r all by products trigerring a big upmove

Has anyone tried commodity trading? How is it done and is gold and crude oil traded maximum

i hav tried & failed for gold u req. margin money itself close to rs. 60,000 & for crude u req. margin money itself rs. 1 L in liq cash with the brokerage plus trading is allowed only in futures segment & not available in OPTION & CASH ..

sure shot way for retail investor to lose money

for a hands on exp. u can try silver i guess for rs . 20,000 . but play with a VARY STRICT STOPLOSS else u will lose ur shirt , pants & more

PS : MY TAKE : ITS NOT WORTH THE RISK

Hello Equity ppl...!!

A lil introduction.

I am a software engineer with 2 yrs of work - Ex, but recntly i have switched to equity markets & now i am a full time trader & i am doing decently there.

I have a query, it would be a great help if someone can guide me about it.
I will be joining B School (not finalized which one) in year 2010, there i need to show My work Ex in equity markets along with proof of income.

So for that purpose whether a DMat account statement will suffice or do i need any other PaperWork/registration etc. to consolidate it.

Thanks for taking time to read my query.

As a trader are you affiliated to some franchise or are you working as a sub-broker. I am not sure about DMAT account statement being acceptable. Try contact alumni/seniors of the college

SIR Says
its approx. 15% of the profits made . [ but , my firm belief is tht u hav to pay it only wen the profits r higher than the taxable income limit !! ]

Does it mean that for a Man one can earn through equities till 1.50 lacs without paying any taxes?

let me get it straight ... you took a break so that you can concentrate on CAT & other exams, but since you cant tell b-school that you took a year-off just for studies and you are a trader (by nature / hobby), you want to show that you have worked well in stock market. Is this the case here?

I have clearly stated my case in my post.
But i don't know on what basis you came up with ur previous post.
Well i am very sorry to disappoint you coz there is nothing like that.

Now knowing this, i would really appreciate if you can contribute in some way to sort out my query.

hey no offense buddy .... sorry if it you feel bad.

i have seen similar cases in my college, so i thought ... anyway, regarding your query I don't think you need to show them your income report from trading to prove that you are working as a trader. But make sure that you understand all the terminologies of day trading and technical analysis.

It will also help if you appear for NCFM certification

NCFM certi's are best bet to help you as a trader..
No details required whether you have already traded or not. Just remember that when you are asked to prove some terminologies, then make sure u get it right..
