Hey Puys !!!I am planning for Adani Power IPO....will be applying for 6 lots @ 100(not have enough money )
what is the advice,,,should I go ahead or not?? If u can Predict or Analyse what is the near Future of this IPO???
According to me ...it is difficult to predict the short term prospects of this stock...but it is a very good investment option in the 1-2 year horizon as the power sector has huge prospects considering the demand for power if the economy clocks good gdp growth.
Your point of *1-2 year horizon as the power sector has huge prospects* makes sense, the same thought propelled me to invest in this share. Also the rest of the Power sector stocks are overvalued,so APL seems bright.
The signs are looking good also as it is oversubscribed to 21.64 times .
Already tried my hand in Adani IPO now it's the turn for NHPC.
Have done some homework on the IPO and waiting for 12th Aug just to see the Retail Individual Investors (RIIs) oversubscription, and will plan accordingly how much to invest.
I am feeling addicted :cheers:to IPOs.Let's see what NHPC have it for me.

Hey Puys....anybody for NHPC???
yeah just filled the form of NHPC... Was planninig to apply for 525 (Rs. 18900) shares but changed my mind after watching the newz on CNBC dat till today FII's have oversubscribed jus 6 times... and for RIIs also it was less.. So applied for jus 350 shares(Rs.12600).. I know its less but just had a loss of 15000 in the market(bloody F&O;!!)... So was scared to apply for 525 shares.. P.S:-By the way nseindia.com is showing the last updated data of 7th August
I think u should have gone ahead with ur 525 target,,,becoz i think that it will be oversubscribed more as most of the RIIs are now applying on the last day and last hours (as seen in Adani IPO).....
I would like to complete some certifications of my own ! What do you recommend ? BSE or NSE ? Also any other finance related course which I can do ( apart from CFA ! ) .
Regards !
NSE and BSE are equivalent.. NSE is self study, BSE offers class room training.. BSE is costly.. Apart from CFA, i only know FRM.. but that is specifically for risk management..
How one can view historic charts (price / technical) of various companies starting before year 2000. Moneycontrol.com allows price chart starting from year 2000, but not before that.
Suppose I want to see historic chart of INFOSYS from year 1995 to 2009, is there any website which allows this for free?
The PE and EPS for Hindalco is different on each website. How one can decide which one is correct?
The PE's are different because the calculations differ for each website.. Some websites include ADR's for the no. of shares caculations, some include convertible debentures for no. of shares, and some take only outstanding shares.. thats y PE and EPS values are different.. Best is to use NSE or BSE sites, take the Net profit and divide by the outstanding shares provided in that site and get the values of EPS and PE.
Of course your broker also keep this data updated.. u can the required data from them..

For this info I think CMIE Prowess is the best database u can find.. as an NMite u can take advantage of this.. I have searched a lot for other sites from past many months, but of little success..
