How rupee became stronger against dollar by applying more import duty on gold?

It is very correctly pointed out by pooja that few pms who are established ones, have 5 lacs min investment & give 30% return yearly.

In addition to it there are some small investment firms also which have not upper and lower limit for investment.
One of my friend who is pass out of FMS delhi has established his investment firm with min investment re 1.
its on profit / loss sharing basis.
min 10% monthly return is guaranteed.
whatever extra profit is made been shared between the two (investor & player).

Ur further queries are welcome !!

hi there.
can you please list some of them here. :)

Being a contrarion again paid !

While the Street expected status quo on CRR , i bet on CRR rate cut n had bought Yes Bank few weeks back

Reaped rich profits today 😃

Positive results by ICICI with Net Interest Income and Net Profit both Up

And more importantly The net non-performing asset ratio decreased to 0.70 percent from 1.16 per cent

ICICI may move to 940-950 odd levels

Next up SBI , any predictions?

Biggies like SBI and HDFC are Bank nifty movers.
They have largest Market Cap & will be the first one to fall if Bank index is affected.
Still if some one ones to play defensive they can go for it.
But my pic will be ICICI & YES bank...'
Near term I agree with your target of 940 of ICICI...
Those who want to play more aggressive , go for YES bank for 50-60% return in 5-6 months...

I am negative on overall Banking sector coz of NPA increasing and interest rates are still very high.

What you guys think?

I think, the RBI would bring down the interest rates in the next review atleast by 25 bps. So, Banking stocks should do well in the next 2-3 months.

Again a cause of concern for the banking sector, the SC decision of banning licences of 8 companies. NPAs of banks likely to increase.

But in times of decreasing in interest rates(market expectation), why is HDFC increasing the deposit rates? What do you say guys?

Please give some reasoning behind the call. So that we also get to understand the logic
This is something that has fascinated me since childhood. No surprises since it seemed to be the easiest way to make money. But why should u invest in Equity markets where the risks are so high and we have seen investors losing the money?

One rational could be the fact that the inflation is hovering under the 5% mark. Fixed Deposit rates are at an all time low. So FD returns do not cover for the rise in inflation. Last year BSE Sensex gained 83% Can any of the banks beat that?

So with sensex poised to touch the 6000 mark again. Was just wondering what the ppl out here were thinking. What is the prognosis for the future? What are the instruments that ppl follow to track stock markets?

Imagine a retail investor putting in money in the Infy IPO in 1993 at Rs 95 a share getting 100 shares allotted. If he had gone on vanvas and returned back only yesterday these number of shares wld have appreciated to 6400 shares.

9500 Rs -> 3.5 Crores :shock: in 11 years

I have not been that lucky in my investments though 😞 but i also do satta(day trading) just to gamble away money.

But iam sure the current volatility would settle down and the trend is still secular post the elections. What say?

Friend.....good point you have made here.....supporting to your discussion is the fact that Warren Buffet has a staff of 10 ppl but still is the richest in the world.....its cos he is an investment banker..a notch up above the equity market......

Just saw this thread :

So,anyone TRADING EUR/USD,GBP/USD,USD/JPY crosses here....

Saw a few posts back someone has mentioned a monthly return of 10% from investing in equity.:wow:

Though its not impossible but very hard to sustain that profit level consistently.CONSISTENTLY is the key here. ...Even America's Top traders and CTA's make an annual return of 40-50% yearly on their Portfolio.:banghead:

Anyways,I Personally prefer technical analysis for trading FOREX.Anyone using TA tools for trading or everyone out here goes the buffets way :banghead: ??

Dear Kaaliya,
Its great to see you on tis thread. Read few of your comments on investment banking.
And as far as my calculations goes you are Blackstone !!
I may be wrong.

I use TA tools for trading. :o
Consistency is not a key to make profit according to me.
U need not be always present in market just for the sake of doing trade.
But rather you should pounce on a opportunity with all your power/ability/strength as and when it comes & come out with huge profits.

Big Players usually do 3-4 trades a year, and eat up all the markets.

Yup!! u got it right...I am Blackstone....

& Actually,I dont trade for making money...I just trade coz its my hobby..

I said consistently coz Prop Traders(Trading on behalf of any Investment firm/FIG/IB/II)at most times have to satisfy a monthly/Quaterly target And coz ur FMS friend owns his own Investment firm even he has to satisfy his monthly/Quaterly/Yearly target In accordance with the portfolio's he is managing..and even World's best traders on wall street have a success % of about 40-50 when it comes to Trading equities.I Once attended a seminar of STEVE NISON (Candlestick Guru) and there he showed his performance as a trader at an Investment bank(S&T; dep.) and it read 20:24 (Profit:loss). So,according to me..maintaining a Consistent turnover of over 100% annually is Tough..real tough :)

And i prefer TA tools coz they make Trading damn exciting and believe me,when u set a Parent and contingent order with P.LIMIT set to say 15 Pips(of course using ur prior knowledge of TA) and the market reverses after exact 15Pips..it gives a hell lot of satisfaction...and a sense of achievement as well...

Of Course Risk factor is lot less through Fundamental analysis and even i think its the best way to go about it,if one is a full time trader but if u really love trading....Trade using TA tools.they will give the real flavour of trading. Paise ka kya hai,aaj hai kal nahi...Par kal ho to zada acha hai

ifb agro \m/, go long people, can be the next jubiliant..:D,

Any one tracked JSW Holdings in last few days It has doubled from 500 levels to 1050 levels in last 15 days It is basically a holding comapny which holds shares in various other comapnies. On 25th January, it was trading at 12% of 'market value of investments' per share Even after doubling, its still trading at mere 21% of market value of its investments

yeah i traded in it, made some profit and lost some too.

sorry double post!

ifb agro , recommended at 140 , 1 month back..currently at 226.40!..:D ...go long people, the stock is undervalued!..:D

P.S-->its doing wonders for me..:D!!

What a Market sentiment. Overcame barrier of 5500 for Nifty & reached the Year Target of 18000, as predicted by analysts, only in the 2nd Month of the Year.

Bulls have taken the charge of the market completely.

Investors who have missed the bus, can wait to board it on weak global European cues & may be on domestic front on the Budget Session & Election Results, when a market may correct but not to the extent of Dec 2011, where Nifty reached 4500.

name some good small cap stocks......ranging 4-10

One of them for better long term prospects, with a Holding period of 3-5 years is Pitti Laminations.

Financials are very gud & balance sheet is almost debt free & Management is gud as well.

My 2 Cents for it.
