Look Basel Accord -II (2006, revised) etc all is available on Bank for International Settlements itself, so I guess a quick glance on the first few pages and in particular index can help you gaining significant information ;)

friends I have been through the whole discussion on this forum but I still dont find any answer to following questions,

1. For people like me who dont have background in finance what is the way to start preparation? Will Hull build my basics needed for this paper or do
I have to read some other basic finance book, if so then which one.(Main Query)

2. Where can I get frm material in delhi.

3. If Laxmi xerox is the only solution then how to get material in delhi from
bombay.

4. Do one need to join coaching classes for this paper.

5. What is the average paypackage for a guy who clears FRM

6. Which portion of exam is expected to change every year so that I can
delay it till latest material is available at Laxmi xerox.

7. Do anyone have the latest FRM Study Guide?

If any experienced person can throw light on these queries of mine I would be greatly thankful to him.

There is no one basic book from where you can learn Risk management topics. Even FRM recommends many books for its exams. Hull is a good book but it will only cover a section of Market Risk. Read the FRM 2008 study guide for recommended books needed to pass the exam.

You can also refer www. investopedia.com and Wikipedia to learn financial stuff.

2. Where can I get frm material in delhi.
what materials re u looking out for? Some mandatory study materials that is required to clear the FRM exam is

- FRM Core Readings &
- FRM Handbook

3. If Laxmi xerox is the only solution then how to get material in delhi from

Laxmi Xerox can courier you the materials to Delhi, FRM 2008 materials are not out yet.

Depends on your work exp, your background and the profile that you want to work in. Read my previous posts on Careers in FRM.

FRM 2008 syallbus if out. Refer 2008 FRM study guide.

Its out, There is no major change in Syllabus except the Quant part (Its a prematured answer, even I need to examine the syllabus)

My suggestion is Download the FRM handbook and try to read through it. Its a pretty good book. If you understand what you read, then enroll for the FRM exam.

Hello all,

Are there any Pune guys on the forum who intend to take FRM 08 ? Also, I want to know if there is any place in Pune where I can get the entire material.

I am primarily looking at enhancing my domain knowledge and add value to my profile which has been virtually been dubbed as useless by premier b-schools. I am an Indian IT male desperate to do an MBA with 5 years of exp ( Intl exp - Aus,US,Malaysia) and a (very good gmat score??????).

Any guys sailing in the same boat ?

Hey Guys,

FRM 2008 Study Materials are still not out. GARP has just release the AIMs so it would be time when the Course Providers are ready with the 2008 Study Materials.

Only FRM Core Readings 2008 will be available in the market presently. Schweser FRM Notes would be available not before late May.

Theres not much of a Syllabus change in 2008 except for Quant Risk. This year Schaums Probability Book has been replaced by Econometrics - Gujarati.

So Paana Kaba we will wait for ur contributions on Econometrics.

I spoke to Laxmi xerox
The FRM Handbook 4th Edition is available at Rs.700
Core readings will be available by the end of this month.
Last year the price was 1500/- Should be around the same figure this year.

Schweser will be available in May. The price should be around 1500/- for that as well.

Have u all started with the studies, Its roughly around 8 months to go for the Exam.

I am intersetd in giving FRM frm GARP. I wanted to know how the course is, is it recognized and reputed in d industry??? i am currently doing my Bachelors of Accounting & Finance frm HR College Mumbai, in d 2nd yr rite now (will enter 3rd yr in 2 months). Is it feasible 4 me 2 giv d course??? I'm interestd in Securities research, especially forex and debt markets. Would FRM be of any value to me???
