Foreign languages anyone?

I've been planning to learn Spanish for a really long time now. Should I go in for a course with Mumbai University (if there is) or the one with Instituto Hispania?

I also know basic Turkish as I was there in Turkey for like 6 months. Does that help? *just keeping some hope*

Regards,
Perseus

I have been considering learning Spanish too since IE Business School is my target destination . Did you know that there are more native speakers of Spanish than there are of English ? Spanish is spoken in many European, South American and certain African countries .It can prove to be quiet a useful language for an MBA aspirant 😃 .

As for Turkish you should consider learning more of it only if you have plans of going back .Learn a language only if you are going to use it extensively . If you learn Turkish fluently and you dont get a chance at using it regularly ,you are likely to forget it after a while or at the very least loose your fluency .That would mean waste of effort .

I cant claim to know any Turkish but i can sing Tarkan's Smooch song quiet fluently though regrettably i dont understand a word of it (except the last part of the chorus that is Ha Ha) .But a Hindi speaker can easily learn or atleast mimic Turkish maybe because both languages have been heavily influenced by Persian .
hi puys,
I have learnt spanish but i need to practice it as i am forgeting it.Can you please suggest an online forum where i can enhance my skills. Thanks in advance.

Here you go ,this is what i was talking about .Regardless of your fluency in a given language you will forget it if you dont use it regularly .

Yeah, If you don't use regularly you would forget. Infact the same has been happening to majority of my classmates except a few who are employed in International Business Profiles and working in Latin America.

Spanish is spoken in many countries. In fact, if I am not wrong Spanish is spoken in approximately 27 countries across the world. Spanish and Chinese are ones that can be of use for business and have been adopted by many B-Schools even.

NMIMS teaches Spanish and Mandarin as a part of International Business course. IIMs also have included Spanish and Mandarin in their curriculum.

hi. i've been planning to learn some foreign language from quite sometime...even got many hands on some basic german and french books i could find in my college library. i like it as a hobby and want to keep it at that, without taking any formal courses. now i'm interested to take my learning further. i browsed through the posts on this thread and found most ppl prefer the following languages:
french, german, spanish and japanese.

earlier i was thinking to learn the basics of some 4-5 languages. but reading through the posts, it seems it's easier to forget here thn learn ;)

so i've narrowed down it to 2 languages: french and german. any other puys also interested in mutual learning are welcome 😃

I really want to learn French and Spanish for completely different reasons altogether. French, because I feel it is the sweetest sounding language in the world, Spanish because I love Cuban music and love how the Spanish lyrics adds a zing to the already upbeat rumba and flamenco tunes.....Unfortunately I am really lazy but I do hope to get enrolled in a foreign language academy during my semester break.
