I'm extremely sorry if i hav done any blunder in my posting thing i'm new so... newayzzzz i am in d 3rd yr studying Bachelors in Financial Mkt; hav given my final examzz n awaiting 4 d results. i came across dis frm course n found it interesting as i'm good in risk management n derivative mkt. i read d syllabus of FRM n i bet i hav covered almost everything of d level 1 in my 3rd yr BFM but at a basic level. i dt hav a clue whether dis frm is my cup of tea as i hav heard it is quite difficult n requires 2yr exp (i'm not an expd person though) i want to know which coaching is good n which all books to refer + plz can u send me some studying materials of frm so dat i can see whether i can do it or not.
PS - i dt wanna fail in my 1st attempt coz momz gonna kill me 650$ n coaching exp is a hell lot of money considering dat i'm still educated unemployed.
help needed asap
Hi all,
The results for FRM May 2011 came yesterday and I managed to clear both the levels
I am ready to help anyone who needs it
Cheers!!
Many Congrats weatherman, truly weathered the risks for the exam :)
Please share below for benefit of prospect FRMs.
1> Effort needed for both exams
2> Materials referred
Thanks Boomerang. I wish my luck boomerangs onto u as well... :)
Abt The time for preparation I feel its subjective. Since I gave both levels together so I needed more time. I think somewhere around 250+ hrs.
The material to b honest I did Schweser + Hull (some chapters) + FRM Handbook ( only for past FRM questions)
Hope this helps
Cheers!!

thanks a lot Finance Cracker.
I am into mortgage servicing analytics.
I am planning to give FRM l1 in november.
is the time enough given the fact that i dont have theoretical knowledge of finance?
As i have known, i suppose hull+schweser+core material+bionic turtle
should be referred for the course. Is there anything else or can you suggest where can i start from. The core material referred here are the books which GARP provides?
the core readings are the books which are written down on the GARP site....u cn check with those there.....
like u....im a noob in finance too....but iv heard frm a lot of ppl that with concentrated efforts u cn crack the exam ......see to it that u cn plan abt atleast 200 hrs for the prep
i am studyng fr CFA.....nd hav not startd studyng fr FRM so i may not be the best person to tell u this....but starting with the readings will help u understnd the stuff bettr.....as schweser is coaching material stuff nd not as elaborate as one would want it to be
cheers!
i have a query regarding FRM..please help me to resolve my query and clear the confusion...what i want to know is that if someone successfully completes the FRM course but has no prior w.ex specifically in risk management domain but has work experience in general banking of around 4-5 years ,will he be inducted as a risk management professional in top banks...and what can be the salary offered to him....and I mean FRM without an MBA ..i also have extremely poor acads....
Puys, I was registering for FRM Part I Nov 2011 today. I am 2011 pass-out and have currently deferred my joining till nov/dec. What do I write in these
fields?
* Employer/Affiliation
(Please enter full company name.)
* Job Title
* Department
* Area of Concentration
* Number of Years Working in Risk Management
-What are the suggested readings for FRM Part-I?
-Do we need the FRM Part-I books(Complete set of 4 individual books)? But then they cost an extra $250.
-Will Schweser notes be enough? Will they be different for Nov Part-I? Where can I get them? How much do they cost?
-Which calculator do I need to get?
-How much time does one require to commit before taking the exam?
-How many sections are there in the exam?? Are there any sectional cut-offs?
-How much credit-limit should my card have to make the payment? Is it possible to pay by debit card?
Please help.
