I wont write a fancy quote here, but I wud just say wht i am doing ,i m facing the same situation as you guys here. My idea is to hang on and keep hanging on to wht u have in life , just keep working like a mad bull and for some time in life just dont think abt the result.
However hard you try you would never get the desired result because you must understand the fight is for survival when one is going through that phase. Think like you are drowning and just peddling your legs to survive. And you will teach yourself one day the way to swim. Till that time just keep peddling.
Take the hits till the time you become absolutely numb and they will stop affecting you. Just keep peddling because you need to do it if not for yourself then for all your near and dear ones.

Hi ,
Thanks Ashish and Rohan for giving some inspiration.Another rejection from SITM i am dejected at my fate as ,prepared left job still no calls.Nor i am able to do the preparation of other upcoming exams, what would i do ,i am totally hopeless.what can i do ? As mentioned this was my last attempt for MBA ,with an experience of 50 months .still nonthing in my hand.
Please help me .
Thanks,
Hi Ajeet don't get depressed, your story is similar to mine. Having more than 56 months of exp, couldn't plan a MBA earlier due to some financial problems. Now want to do an MBA ,got a call from ICFAI(but they have called every other candidate who has given the paper), got only 65 in snap. have applied for around 12 colleges for CAT in the range of 80-95 percentile and still fear what I will do, if I didin't got through.
But the best part is I thought may be some good college will be waiting for me next year. I will start preparing again after the March results are out(if I didn't get through).
Somethings on my side is that even if i make it to a A+ college which is among the top 40 in India. I will have the plus point of having the exp that mostly no one will have, which will give me an edge over the others. This will help me not only in my GD/PI(just clearing the written will be all for me.) but also will help me in lateral placements.
And if you thing age is a matter, mate studying doesnot have any age written to it, do it when you feel it is better. The best example I will give you is of Mathew Hayden(Australia). He came at the age of 29-30 and just ruled the cricket arena for the next 6 years . He was one of the devastating player ever seen.
So my friend don't loose hope give it a try again if u fail this time.
Beat of luck for your future.
Regards
Piyush

hey , it was a very motivating 1.. 😃 In life one must know that adversity is the best education ie in bad times one can learn ; how to stand them , how to avoid the mistakes . For all the young bright minds , just think that you have nothing to loose in life and from this point of time, you can only gain ; for those who are already into jobs ; they certainly have evrything to gain and nothing to loose ; loosing confidence will worsen the conditions and will give others a chance to win easily .
SUCCESS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A MATTER OF STAYING WHEN OTHERS LET IT GO ! 😃 .
Everybody can be happy in their good times but only a few can manage to stand bad times , and those are the successful 1's.. 😃
god bless all..

Did God created us because he wanted that we should do our engineering from IIT,MIT or MBA from IIM,ISB or PG from Harvard,Cambridge. This web is created by us.Life never starts from IIT/IIM/Harvard blah blah or ends at them.
Keep focus on what you want to achieve(when i say achieve i don't mean money) and look all the paths through which you can reach there or get close to it.Life is not about earning 15lakhs annually, having a car,a bungalow, holidays in Mauritius and blah blah. You will not take any of these things with you once to leave your body.Try to live a life which is away from materialism and more based on humanity and love. When you are in grief, remember the most beautiful days of your life.
Can you count the number of days when you were most happy??? Compare you life span till now and see how less were those days of happiness....start enjoying each and everyday.Happiness is pursuit when its looked for.
If our freedom fighters had thought negative and felt dejected then i am afraid we would still being ruled by Britishers.
One last advice that start doing YOGA....it will really help.

Wow Brother.... i think i've heard it somewhere. Anyway thx for ur post.
if you can, try to cheer up ppl who are feeling bad about results. Why do you think pagalguy is not here to motivate people. it is not just a forum to give info on b-schools. As you said, it is in the state of mind. Its applicable to u as well my dear friend.
Please Remember everyone here is to get/give career help of one form or the other
hey aparna actually i just wanted to make the guy strong by using those words.
Difficulties are weaken by ur strong firm stance against them not by crying out loud. Its not going to help anybody. What do you think ur sweet sweet words are going to console him, no it will make him more weak, which is not expected from a person with 3yr of exp in IT sector.

Hey Anurag!
Agree that laying emphasis on whats wrong and dwelling in self pity and frustration do take a toll on the human psyche. Just the same, knowing u r not alone in the boat gives u the kinda strength that conquering your fears silently just does not 😃
Famously said in 3 idiots - when ur friend flunks, u feel bad but its worse when he tops right? Similarly, knowing u r not the only one roughing your boat out of troubled waters and there are other capable, hardworking, intelligent puys out there who have suffered at the (hands of destiny? / educational system?) altar gives hope and renewed motivation right?
I think its very healthy to vent it out here cuz these exams are mostly stress tests where u need nerves of steel. Venting it out at home will get 90% (no research, just an estimate and a modest one at that!) of parents more worried and will make them push you over the edge... This is a healthy place to say it 😃
hey amirta

Hey Naveen,
I can imagine what these scores must have done to your self esteem but they'll affect u adversely only if you let them. Answer a few questions for yourself and am sure u wont let it bog you down -
1) What are your resons for wanting that MBA?
a) You are interested in a particular specialization offered by an MBA - Mktg/H.R/Fin/Ops
b) You havent found your ground yet and are going after something that seems lucrative and 'in'
c) Family pressure to do 'something good' in life
2) Have you put in your heart and soul into studies and given it your best shot? By this, I dont mean 8 hours a day, it could be 3-4 hours a week of dedication with full concentration.
3) What's your plan B? If MBA doesnt work for you, then what? Knowing this helps in 2 ways - one, when u dont HAVE to do something, that pressure of performing if lifted off and u can actually sit down and compete only with yourself by saying, "it doesnt matter what others do, I'll do MY best. Thats all that matters" and its no breaking news when i say that it helps remind you that life's bigger than this - when we are 45, with a family, your child will love u just as much whether or not u have that MBA 😃 so, let yourself know what your option is and give the next few exams your best shot - its NOT too late :)

Hi frns,
Here is the portion of a speech delivered recently be Chetan Bhagat in Delhi in which he urges MBA aspirants to Have Faith in Yourself
===================
The mantra for success: Faith in Yourself!
It is important to have faith in yourself. But it is more important to have the same faith in yourself even after multiple failures. If I had lost faith in myself after the first few rejections, the book would never have happened.
This also shows that even experts go wrong and make wrong predictions. Things are changing really fast. You will have no idea about what is going to happen in the next moment.
Everyone faces ups and downs in life. No matter how big a personality someone is today, sometime or the other, he must have received slaps from life. Life will slap you a number of times. You have no option but to face it, but you will also receive kiss from life! So ignore the slaps from life and keep the faith alive.
After a point of time, I realized that if I have to become a writer, I need to be more sincere about it. I decided to quit my job. It was one of the most important and difficult decision to make. Though I was sure about it but my family was a huge factor on taking this decision.
Forget obstacles, focus on goals! There have been a number of obstacles in my life but gradually, they turned out to be my biggest positives. They are my father, boss, publishers, Bollywood, wife and mother-in-law.
My father was in Army. He was very strict and disciplined. As a child I wanted to be a chef and my father was very pissed with this idea. He never let us watch TV and this created a lot of disappointment within me and my brother. So we started creating stories and narrate it in a way as if we are watching a movie. I think this tickled the imagination power inside me.
Had my boss been satisfied with my work, promoted me and given a raise, I would have been happily working there. In that way I would have never become an author at all!
My entry to Bollywood took place with Hello, the movie turned from my second book, One Night @ The Call Centre. The movie did not work. I realized that if I have to make so many things work, I need to concentrate on it fully. That is when I decided to quit my job. You must have already watched 3 Idiots and work for my third book, 3 Mistakes of My Life is going on. I think I have become a scriptwriter now!
My wife and mother-in-law are not that much of obstacles though. My wife still goes to the bank to work, which makes people say, "He has his wife to support him!" My mother in law remains worried about me and my decisions, whether it will do good to me and my family or not! She is anyway upset as her daughter got married to a Punjabi guy instead of a Tamil Brahmin!
No regrets!
But I don't regret my decisions. When I left my job, I was in a senior position. I could afford a BMW, go to foreign trips, but I had to choose one way so I sacrificed the luxury and chose my passion. My colleagues have bought bigger cars, but they get stuck in the traffic jams, even I do with my smaller car. So whats the difference?
Decide yourself what success means to you! Success varies from person to person. For some, success is working hard just to afford a bigger house and a bigger car. For some, success is all about living life in their own way. Its fair enough either way. You have to decide about your success parameter.
