guys i discussed about set 2 pattern qns with faculty he said...riser provides molten metal during phase change and liquid shrinkage...while during cooling solid always contract coming to room temp..so out of three contraction if peicewise contraction is not given then cosider it overall contraction...
yeah. .grey CI expand during phase change but during cooling to room temp it contract...so overall it may happen that it had contracted...3% is overall shrinkage I.e + during phase change and -ve during cooling making it overall shrinkage
