Process -
GD Topic - Should alcohol and tobacco be banned in India
GD Experience - 7 people. First 1 minute was given to think about the topic. 30 seconds to introduce the topic turn by turn. After that the panel said go! I started the GD in the favor of ban while all the other 6 were against it ! So basically it was me against everyone else. Pitched in 4-5 times. No fish market. We all were civilized enough to give each other chance to speak. Then everyone asked to conclude with their statements turn by turn.
Then in the next 5 minutes we were asked to write an essay on the same on the sheet of paper provided. The professor asked us to write the essay in 4 paragraphs. The sheets were collected and they started calling us for PI immediately
PI experience- Tell us something about yourself, your family background, your hobbies and what all have you been doing
Told about schooling,internships, parents qualification,about siblings
I was asked why my engineering marks were less. Told
He said I would be disqualified for some firms as they have set criteria of 60% in graduation. I gave some counter argument and the panel looked satisfied with the answer.
Next question was about work ex, what exactly were my responsibilities, whom am I reporting to, Little details about customers. The moment I started explaining technical things regards to my work or college project the panel said they don't want to know the technical details just the little info is fine.
Mam asked if I had any story about how I pursued my customer .Told
Asked me if my dad is an Mba . Told
Does he regret not doing an Mba . Told
Then came the question why MBA ? Told, the panel looked satisfied with minute nods
Then he asked about what other calls I had
What stream did I wanna take in PGDM
Between TAPMI and GIM what would I choose. Told Gim ofcourse!
Then he asked why GIM ? Told
Then he said Im done, do you wanna know anything about the college.
I asked if there was any link of college with ngo or blood donation camps.. Mam asked inquisitively why do you get this urge to do something for the society
I gave some philosophical answer and this concluded my interview
Even if I'm not selected I'm thankful to the panelist for not making me feel like a loser. I was given respect and space to answer my questions without unnecessary counter arguments, which is so unlike TAPMI !!

I had my GD/Essay/PI round today at blore
it started with GD (topic :- Cricket2015 : has become an other name of Casino ) it was quite a time based GD . perfect 30 sec for introduction and the conclusion , in between it was open for the table
then the essay : topic being the same GD topic . only five minutes were given . you need to hurry a bit , no much time to think .Word limit was 250 (but within 5 minutes you can barely right 150 words)
then was the PI : for each person it took around 15 -20 minutes . It was pretty chilled out interview . Tell me about yourself , which other colleges you got call from ? and so on
and regarding which other colleges you got call from , they will ask your priority among the colleges ; in my case i got from IMT Ghaziabad , IMI Delhi , IIT Kharagpur and TAPMI Manipal . So i told not interested in North India since i have my business and Tapmi is near to my home town , so would like to be in a different culture and BJP is ruling government :-)

GD Topic - Will Indian Soccer league succeed?
GD Experience -
-7 guys and 3 member panel
-30 seconds each for introduction
-open discussion for 10 mins
-30 seconds each to conclude (Keep in mind that it should be about the group and not just your personal opinion)
-5 minutes WAT based on GD (200 words). 4 paragraphs to be written. We were told that content is not important. Basically they want to check grammar, sentence framing bla bla.
PI Experience-
-Panel of three. Two professors (P2,P3) and one alumnus (P1) from 2003 batch. I was the last person for the interview.
-P3: Took my folder and started scanning documents
-P2: Tell me about yourself. Based on engineering he asked whether gravity is a fact. Grilled on Gravity.
-P2: Why MBA? What will you do as entrepreneur. I spoke about two business models. Grilled on it.
-P2: Blasts both the business models and I come with with third :P. Asks you are a dreamer or optimist?
-P1: What others calls do you have? Asked CAT, XAT, CMAT percentile. Preference with respect to GIM
-P2: Asks about work ex. What is product lifecycle management?
-P1: Do you believe in Aliens?
-P2:Why should we admit you? What do you bring to the table. Specifically says don't talk about hardworking and other cliche answers.
-P1:Where are you from?
-P2: Hobbies and Extra-curricular? Any National or State level achievements?
-P1: Why did you choose electronics engineering? Spoke about my final yr project and based on that he asked: tell me 5 new ways in which drones can be used. (excluding current uses)
-P1: Was there any technical problem/challenge in mobiles with a projector? Is it possible to make one? If yes then why it didn't succeed?
-P3: How many senses do you have?
-P3: I have a digital image. How will you make it lively? I clarified the question again. Basically he wanted to capture all the senses along with the digital image. How will you do it with all the sensors etc?
-P3: I want to buy a cloth from amazon from a mobile app. Devise a method to feel the texture of the cloth using mobile's touch screen.
-P2: How will you design/devise a computer/online game for a blind person?
Finally done with the interview (25 mins). Grilled thoroughly. Weird interview. P2 tried to make it stressful.

GD : Comprised of 7 candidates and 3 panelists.
Topic : Can India handle democracy responsibly?
GD was well conducted with opening and conclusion presented by each candidate. GD discussion went on for a while, but in low-decibel with no aggression thankfully, everyone was extremely civilized and listened to each other's opinions before offering their own. Was followed by an essay writing on the same topic (250-300 words) to check for English.
Interview : 3 panelists
Questions asked mainly pertaining to work experience in detail, lots of situational questions related to work, ethics, why GIM, expectations from placements, exchange experience, what other calls and some other questions.
Panelists were extremely cooperative, approachable and candid! Overall, liked the process and satisfied with the GD and Interview Experience.

GD Topic - will Indian Soccer league be a success ?
GD Experience - Everyone was given chance to open the discussion and make the conclusion. GD was good.Everyone contributed to it .It lasted for approx 12 mints. Then we had to write a Essay on the same topic in 5 mints.
PI Experience-
P1 - Tell me about yourself ? - was interrupted by P1 and asked what is PCM tutorials ? ( I mentioned in my intro that currently I am associated with PCM)-Told -then some questions came related to that. and some about what other calls I have.In between answering he got call from someone and told P2 to continue discussion.
P2 - so Ashish , why you resigned from ur job? - answered - then she asked why I resigned too early ( Feb 2014) - I could have resigned somewhere in June if I wanted to prepare. - Answered
P2 - Then she asked me what I have to give to GIM ? - I told her that I have a diverse work ex. and while working for PCM I had organised seminars , so can help fresher with my IT ex. , can help in handling IT support of college website and fest organisation. - Then she asked on personal level? - I told her my personal qualities.And told her that I write poems.( In between P1 came back )
P1 - What kind of poems ? - I said sir I'm optimistic person,so whatever I write that involves optimism. - he asked about language in which I write. -Then he asked to speak out one. - I just read one of those out ( I was having 3-4 poems in my folder).They seemed happy - P1 - ohk so power of presence(smiling).
P2 - Ashish , there is a thin line between optimism and unrealistic things. What do you think about this ? - answered - she seemed happy. - after that I told about money and most of the people running behind money. That is the sole reason for unhappiness.And ended by mentioning " do your job best and money will follow you."(I mentioned about happiness and work in my previous ans )
- P2 smiled and asked me -and from where do you read this ." - told mam this is what I think. and she smiled.
P2 - Ok Ashish , we are done. Do you have any question? - asked about whether can select subjects from all specialization or what?got the answer. And It ended.
Overall it was good.they seemed satisfied.
