The process started at around 9 as few of the group people were late.

GT- The case study mentioned earlier regarding the problem of a new office building and parking lot 1,2. One parking lot being near office, the other 2kms. away. People have to travel the distance either by a crowded bus or by walking. They wanted our course of action regarding the solution.

Had apeaceful discussion. Few of the solutions came up. Like reach a solution of alternating the team mates' turn by discussing among them, telling office to arrange for some conveyance or deposit money and arrange a carpool on their own. Few points were being repeated. At the end had around 10 sec to conclude for each and 2-3 min to write down bout it in 7-8 lines.

Here goes my GIM GD/PI experience :

Profile :
10th - 87.6 % (SSC)
12th - 92.33 % (HSC)
B.E - 65.9 % (Pune University)
Work Ex - 18 months with Infosys as a software engineer

XAT score : 95 %ile

GD/PI slot : 4th March - 8:45 AM
Venue : YMCA - Central Branch , Colaba , Mumbai

GD :
It was a case study based GD like Puys have already mentioned . Our GD case was related to a company and a team of engineers working there . The company has recently shifted to new premises and there is a problem related to parking lots . One lot is near the office and the other is like 2 Kms away and to commute from there till office , you need to walk or catch a bus which is usually crowded . The Parking Lot 1 near the office has place for only 4 and the rest are in Lot 2 . The Boss sends a letter to your team saying give me a list of people for lot 1 and the rest who will take lot 2 - your group needs to reach a consensus as to who will get the parking in lot 1 and who will get lot 2 .

The GD starts with 30 sec for a brief opening statement by each of the candidates - then for the next 10 Min , it is thrown open to discussion followed by an ending statement by each of the candidates again for around 30 sec or so .

Our GD was a fairly smooth , chilled out one - we had already decided outside that there would be no fish market and everyone would get a chance to speak and put in their points The Content was lacking though with a lot of points repeated and a lack of new ideas , but the whole process was above average . Although we were told to reach a collective decision by the end , a consensus did not take place (10 mins too short) and we were asked to end with a summarising statement by each of us . We also wrote a few lines about how we felt the GD went on the paper provided and submitted the same .

The GD for me was fairly good , spoke well in the beginning and the end and put in a few decent points when i entered in the GD .

Now after the GD , there was a painfully long wait of around 2 hours for my PI (Impatience is one of my weaknesses) Sat with the fellow GIM aspirants (made quite a few friends actually) and yakked a lot about GD , MBA , general stuff etc . Also managed to watch the match on the TV outside (Sachin played a great innings) . In between went out and also ate something - was famished since I left early and had skipped my breakfast

Now the PI :

Panel : Mr Mihir Mahapatra (M) , Mrs Sarita Dsouza (S)

Me : Please may i come in ?
M and S : please do
Me : Good Afternoon Maam , Good Afternoon Sir
M and S : Good Afternoon , please sit
S : So Anvesh , you are from Pune
Me : yeah maam
S : Can you show me your marksheets
Me : Sure , gave them the folder
S : Do you have your XAT score-card with you ?
Me : yeah , here it is (showed it to them)
S: smiles , so why such a poor score in Quant ?
Me : (damn , i was expecting this given my pathetic Quant Score) I had a bad day on the day of the XAT , Maam .. explained to them how it is not an indicator of my ability in Quant - gave example of CAT where i have 86.xx %ile in QA and how CAT QA was as tough if not tougher than XAT .. also told them for XAT I attempted only 8 or so questions and got 4-5 wrong and hence the low score .. also told them being from Engg background , my Maths grounding is solid ...
They seemed to be satisfied and did not probe further on this .
showed them the work ex documents for proof of work ex , asked me whether i am still working , asked me my graduation percentage - aggregate , told them this ...
S : in the GD , you said the group should reach an amicable consensus , is that always possible ?
Me : No sometimes it is not possible and the decision has to be taken even if there is no consensus and rambled on about how it is important for everyone to put forth their views and even if the group does not agree completely , at least they do on certain points etc
S : Anvesh are you nervous ?
Me : Yeah maam I am actually , this is my first interview for MBA ( i was pretty nervous and she sensed this as well )
S: smiled
M : tell me your major strengths and weaknesses
Me : (I had prepared so well for this question , had an answer ready knowing that this is a typical MBA interview question , but god knows what happened inside that room - hundreds of thoughts running through my head and words failing to come out as fluently as they do on any other occasion - all thanks to my nerves getting the better of me ) said I work smart , rather than hard and am efficient
M : what is meaning of efficient
Me : explained - more work , less effort , more quality etc
M : and weakness
Me : I push myself too hard at times (cliched answer , didn't know what to say actually) and that I am too eager and enthusisatic and need to mellow down a bit
S : similes and says but isn't that good ?
Me : yeah but I am too energetic and over enthusiastic and keen to prove myself
S : keen to prove yourself to whom , the panel here ?
Me : people who are judging me , then I slipped out one more weakness saying I am a bit emotional
S : so is being emotional good or bad ?
Me : depends , it can be good as well as bad based on how you look at it , said how being emotional can sometimes affect your performance and decision making etc
S : So can you give us an example of any such instance at the workplace ?
Me : Not exactly
S : then how do you say this ?
Me : based on my interaction with others outside the workplace
M : should we take you ?
Me : (after a pause) yes you should
M : and why ?
Me : I think I have all the neccessary qualities you are looking for in an aspiring manager
M : and what are those
Me : I think you are looking for honest , hard working people (was really lost for words) who want to make a mark in the industry
S : give an example of how you are honest
Me : Ask me questions and I give you honest answers
M : what are the qualities required in a manager
Me : said vision , foresight , good people management skills
S : and emotional ?
Me : No Maam
S : what have you done to impove yourself in that area ?
Me : I try to be logical and rational in my thinking approach , am making an effort to improve my temparament
M : tell me your marks for each sem
Me : told them after calculating on paper (didn't have marks separately for 2nd sem , so had to subtract the 1st term marks from each years consolidated score , could not do this mentally - was struggling with my nerves , so maam gave me a sheet on which i started calculating and telling them the marks , may be this was to test my number crunching skills , who knows , although they said they need the marks for verification purpose)
S : Ok thanks Anvesh , you may go
Me : Thats it ? (expected questions on work ex , little on acads , general awareness , economy , budget etc - others were asked all this )
S : yes
Me : thank you Maam , thank you Sir (picked up my stuff and made an exit)

To all Puys - sometimes we are confident , but nerves get the better of us (happened to me , sad but could happen to others as well) Try and be calm and composed . I felt i did OK but i could have done much better had i stayed calm and answered in a better manner . I was nervous and it did not help - usually I am fluent and words are free flowing but in the interview it was tough for me to phrase my thoughts and speak well .

All the best to those who have their GD/PI .

For me up next is TAPMI on 12th and I hope i do better there

Dont worry yaar..tension leneka nahi
jo hoga woh hoga....
What ever things which were in you control you did that, no use worrying about something beyond your control

Look at me..I still have my hopes alive , although my score which is the most contributing factor is the least on this forum atleast

2 the puys who have gone through the GT process, can you please tell me what is the panel is expecting @ the start 15sec given to each person clockwise to speak.
Should we talk about our solution or just describe the case itself. And in the last part (individual 15sec in the end)whether just summary of whatever discussed or 1 can also tell his personal point of view.

for the opening statement , get straight to the point because you have only 15-20 sec , i used it to make a point and give my solution .. of course you can also introduce the problem if you are the very first guy to speak ..

For the ending , you should give a summary i feel with everyone's points included and try and give the conclusion to the GD ...

its each one's personal choice. like anvesh has already mentioned, if you're the first one to speak, elaborating on the problem makes more sense, if you're somewhere in the middle, then try to build up on others' points (a good manager is a good listener, and there's no better way to prove that you're a good listener than to state others' points in your solution). there are no hard and fast rules, just do what your common sense tells you to.

hi puys

just back from my gd pi at St. Xaviers collg , kolkata; 1:45 pm slot.

XAt : 92.97 %ile
X- 85; XII-84, Grad : 80.5,..oops FResher :(

GD- given a topic abt an MBA frnd in bombay who has a job offer from IT co. (6L+2L variable) chennai; from an equity dealing firm 6L(mumbai) and an uncle's biz which is consultancy for entrepreneurs & who has promised share of profit and 25000 p.m initially.what wud b ur suggestion to her.

had some pts though most repeated. cud not reach a consensus.thean summing up and writing as usual.

PI- The saddest part begins... seems Ranjini mam(R) and Anand sir (A) were in a foul mood. They started asking tech ques and advising ppl against joining MBA @ GIM.even work ex guys were asked to do 1 yr course and not waste 2 yrs.Basically they tried 2 find out if you are really convinced abt ur decision to join MBA and you have to argue with them. I could not and messed up big time... here's how.

A: introduce urself
me : fumbled.
A: asked me abt my project and plans
me : explained.
A: details on alternate power sources in India and world wide
Me : answered.

Now the grilling begins...
R : what is your aim in life , you seem confused ???
me : explained my plans again, about entrepreneurship in alternate power sector.
R: but ppl in ur discipline have made it big even without an MBA, why do you need one ????:robot:
Me ; started fumbling
R : this way you will spend your whole life in classroom testing your strengths ( had told her that i wanted to test myself)
R: the best way would be to join a job and find out your strengths... why MBA.... ???

grilling continues... i fail to convince them that i need an MBA.
sir was yawning wen i was fumbling.i cud not retort back.:(
Sir : wat job offers hav u got.
Me: TCS and wipro.
SIr: which sector IT or TEch ???
me : IT.
Sir: what other calls do you have ????
me : told them.

Sir : do you have any ques ???
ME: abt entrepreneurship progs at GIM. ( this was the last nail in my coffin)
Mam : if you join MBA it will b difficult to start you venture wen others will be joining job. maybe if you have that kind of will power we will be able to help you.
sir: told me about EDI in Ahmedabad.
Mam : if you go there you will feel more motivated to start your biz.

ME: kept nodding like a fool all the time.but my smile had disappeared.
Sir : you may go and good luck.

My chances for this year are over:(. that's for sure. they did not even check my mark sheets or any document, infact did not ask for the file at all !!!
PS: to all who are to face pi 2mrw. b prepared with ur acads and revise a thousssand times " Why MBA ??". coz they hav stopped asking directly but they want answer . so b ready especially freshers.

guess this is my last post in this forum. SO Adieu amigos... its been a pleasure interacting with you all...

Wishing everybody all the best...

Dhiman

if its u whos starting..u shud be going on wid the explaination ov the case..but if u r not the first person..then try and list the problems whose solutions needs to be found out..bcoz once u r clear wid the root cause...only then u may think of the solutin..i hope this helps!!best ov luck!!

Batch of Gd(GT)/PI: 8:45 am - YMCA , Mumbai

GT/GD: We were given a case study, were a MNC needs to buy High end hardware for their branch in Goa and their manager Ms. Meeta needs to decide from a local Desi computers (3 yrs old and Turnaround time is 20 Hrs and good client base in Goa) and well established company (10 yrs old and 36 Hours turnaround time but no base in Goa)
We had two panelists Sarita Mam and Mihir Sir.
We were given 1 min to think and then 10-15 secs to make an opening statement from 1st to last (I was first :xmas:). Then we had to discuss for around 8-10 minutes and then give a concluding statement from last to first for 10 -15 secs. After that we had to jot down how the GD went according to us for around 3-4 mins.
Over all, GD was good for me as I introduced many new points and coud give new dimensions quirte often. Quite satisfied.

PI:I had to wait for around 1 and half hour for PI and made few friends during that time. Met on person who sits in the same building as mine and on the floor below mine from past year and half, but we hadn`t met before (Strange!!!..Not for people working here )
Then my time for PI.
Panelist : Confirming my details
I : Just Nodding in between
Panelist : Tell me what do you do in Infosys ?
I : Gyan

I : Gyan
Panelist : Any preference and why ?
I : Finance and then Gyan
Panelist : Questions about the same.
I : Gyan

Thats IT :xmas:

By the way I forgot to take the Joining Letter, so had to showed that to them after the interview.

But all in all the panelist were cool and the entire process was great!!

Any quuestions ? Shoot!!!

HI puys First of all my apologies to everyone for posting so late ............I know the excuse is lousy but genuine.....had some pending work due to leave from office on monday.. and dint want to post till I wrote every little detail that might help you guys.

Venue : YMCA,Colaba,Mumbai 1:45 pm

Work ex 2 yrs 7 mnths with Larsen and Toubro Infotech LTd as Business Analyst/Quality Analyst.
11:30 am : Started from home and caught the local from chembur to VT(CST !!though i still cannot refer to it by that name after so many years.)

1:00 pm : Reached the VT station and told the cabbie to take me to YMCA,Colaba. On hearing Colaba the cabbie happily took me in.

1:15 pm : I reached colaba. As luck would have it the cabbie took a wrong U-turn and was caught by the traffic man (lovingly referred to by mumbaikars as Mama). I said this is it ! HEre goes my day. I paid the cabbie .........(who by that time was swearing like hell) and started asking directions for YMCA....

The YMCA at colaba is located in a serene lane away from the main street and is surrounded by British heritage blds all around........I already was in Goa and at GIM:xmas:....

1:20 pm : I reached the venue and started looking all around ....there seemed to be many people around and I was confused ........all in ties and Blazers and at their best.

We got to know that the timing for our batch was to be postponed a bit as the previous batch(8:45 am) was still having their PI's. It was lunch time and after the previous batch finished the professors had a brief lunch session.

1:50 pm : Professor Sukhtankar came out and announced that we shall be beginning with the GT sessions. He called out names and asked us to go to the Seminar Room.

We were divided into 4 groups of 9 each.
There were 4 panelists
P1 : Mr. Chandrasen Mirchandani
P2 : Mr. Sukhtankar.
P3 : Ms Sarita D'souza
P4 : Mr. Sarvanan

I was part of group that had P1 and P2.

The first group went in and came out in about 12-15 minutes.
After we went in we were made to sit in a round table arrangement. P1 explained to us the procedure for the GT and the rules for the same. The objective is to have a discussion based on the case given and come to a solution for the same.

The case was same as that for Sonal and Amit . I remember seeing both of them(though didnt get a chance to meet Sonal personally over there). Had a chance to meet Amit and Apporva as well over there who i got along with pretty well.

The case was that Mahesh has a Kirana story and he has given credit cards to his customers. He decides to charge 5% as surcharge in case the customers donot pay beyond a month's duration. After a month he realises that 90% of the customers have not paid the dues and now to refill his stock he has to borrow money from the market at 12 % interest. What solution would you provide him for the same.

We were asked to give our opening statements in 15 secs and I was the 6 in line. Was able to make one point in my 15 secs. Then the discussion was open for all. We discussed some good points. Overall a thanda group with few good points being made. But a chilled out experience. We were then told to conclude in the reverse order from the end. After that we were told to either summarize the GT or to give a conclusion in writing in 3 mins.

I was relieved to have put my 3 main points in time.......

After that we were called one by one for the PI's. It was already 3.00 pm. I was hungry as I had eaten nothing since morning due to anxiety. So collected a few people and went out for having some sandwiches. Though I feel that GIM should have arranged for some tea atleast as was feeling really sleepy.... in the afternoon time. Not a problem as it was compensated by the friendly attitude of the professors to a great extent.

By the time my turn came there was lot of tension as there were couple of freshers who were grilled on their academics and were sent out in 5-10 mins. I was just wondering whether by the time my turn came what may happen. We even joked about the fact that I may be just asked my name and sent out.

5:05 pm : The person before me (incidentally was a work-ex guy with 3yrs similar to him) came out and told me that they were asking lot of technical questions. I got scared.

P1 asked me to come in. Said good evening Akshay. I kept my file on the folder. Was praying in my mind that they have a look at the various certificates of achievement and accolades I had.

P2 : looking at my file and asking me at the same time. So you are from Karnataka.
M : Yes.
P2 : Which part?
M : Bhatkal?
P2 : Have you ever been there.
M : Yes.
P2 : Which train goes there?
M : Matsyagandha Express.
P1 : So what does DDIT stand for (Its the name of my college).
M : told.
P1 : Tell me about the work that you do currently.
M : Told about my work in detail. I felt I had the interest of both the professors and both were listening intently. I was happy and confident about the same.
P1 : So tell me why MBA?
M : Told in detail about my plans and why I intended to do my MBA.
P2: Listening at the same time going through the files.
P1 : So Akshay are you happy with your work at L & T?
M : Yes, I do love the work as I have challenges at times and at times the work becomes a bit monotonous.
P1 : So tell me about the challenges that you faced?
M : Told about a very critical project and the role played by me in the same.
P1 : So tell me akshay you are earning a good package and are having a good job are you willing to sacrifice the same and join GIM.
M : Yes.
P1 : So where do you see yourself after 2 yrs at GIM.
M : Said " Obviously" in the software industry. (I dint mean to use that word but accidently used it).
P1 : Somewhat offended. Whats obvious about that. If that was the case then more than 80 % of the people coming here would have opted for the same.
M : I clarified a bit sheepishly. I said I've spent more that 6 years in this field since my undergraduate days,it would be right for me to be in a field in which I am comfortable and have a good know-how.
P1 & P2 Satisfied with the response(were laughing with me as they understood my point)
P1 : Whats ur XAT score?
M : Told.
P1 : So why GIM?
M : Replied.
P1 : Which other calls?
M : Replied.

Then some other questions were asked and I could see the tiredness in the eyes of both the professors, but atleast they were enjoying it and I was happy and did not feel even a little bit stressed.

I thanked them and left the room. Overall a very good experience. One advise to the guys as others have already mentioned. Just Chill and be yourself. The Professors are not out to stress you. They just need to know if you are really serious about you goals.

ATB.

So here I am posting my GDPI expereiences

Venue : ISI,Delhi
Date:3rd March
Time :1:45 PM
XAT percentile : 93.64
Background : Elex & TC Engineer
Work Ex : 2.5 yrs in Telecom Company

About 36 people were present in the slot and we were divided in 2 groups of 18 each. Then the we were again divided in group of 9 each. We were then told an overview of GIM, its historical past, its founder etc . Later, one professor joked that they have got good vegetarian food too available in canteen though Goa is famous for its fishes.

GD TOPIC : Already posted earlier abt a Kirana Shopkeeper mahesh giving credit card to his customers and then facing problem.

GD Started with introduction by candidates in clockwise direction. Spoke about 4-5 times, overall GD to Okay type....after sometime the dicussion kept on rotating on same points. One guy in our btach kept on repeating that the Shopkeeper should emotionally reach out to his customers and tell them abt his problem. Finally we were asked to summarize in anticlockwise direction.....

I was the 9th one to be interviewed in my batch. The guy who went before me.....one sardarji....came out in 5 minutes...the panel checked him marksheets, certificates & other things in his file, handed over back to him & said Thankyou....no questions ......nothing.

On hearing his experience, I really got scared. Finally webt inside after 2 minutes.

2 professors on the panle(same people who were observers in the GD)I would name the professors P1 & P2.

P1: Tell me your XAT Score....did u gave XAT last yr....what was ur percentile...any improvement.....why low quant score.
P1: Tell me what is debit & credit?
Me : Struggling to explain.
P1: Okay since u r earning, you might be spending a lot too..tell me what is debit card and a credit card.
Me : Happily explained.
P2: What card did the shopkeeper used in the GD topic given?
Me: Credit card
P1:What is a balance sheet?
Me:Balance sheet of a company includes its investement, profit, losses etc.(was wondering....was abt to say...me an engineer...don't know anything abt eco.....then came P2 to my rescue)
P2: P1 is a finance person....so he is asking u questions related to finance. Let me ask you a question on ur subject. Tell me how a fax mechine works?
Me: (yeh googly kahan se aa gayi?) Told them some crap....complete bullshit
P1: By looking at the print of the sheet which I have provided in XAT details....u haven;t mentioned your salary in the sheet.
Me: (Looking at the printout)Sorry Sir!
P1:No problems, tell me your current salary
Me: Told...and added this is subjected to revision this April.
P1:Expected salary
Me:Told
P1:Oh!Then y u want to do MBA.
Me: Told the same raata raataya Kahani....seen my company from a technical point of view...what to have a holistic view.
P1:So, u r ready to return back to the same company
Me:Yes Sir.My comapny is even a recruiter in GIM
P1:How much you r expecting after returning?
Me:That's a tricky question
P1:Try
Me:Its difficult to put it in figures...actually I am not looking after money I want some real Gyaan...want to enhance my decision making & managerial skills(same old crap)
P2:Put ur expected salary in Figures.
Me:Told.(P1 wrote that in the print out of my details which he was holding)
P2:What you are expecting if you stay in the company without doing an MBA.
Me: TOLD.Again I said :me not looking for money.
P1 &P2; both : No, No we are thinking what contribution GIM can do to you since you are already earning pretty good.
Me::confused:(I had prepared on what contribution I can do to GIM but never expected them to say that what contribution they can do to me)
P1:Okay,tell me abt ur background..I already have ur details with me...I want something which is not there....tell me abt ur family background.
Me: Mother,father,younger brother.
P1:What does ur younger brother does?
Me:Told.
P1:How u plan to pay the fees of the GIM?
Me:Half I can pay by whatever saving I have done...half I will borrow from my parents
P1:Are your parents ready to send you to Goa?
Me:Sir, they have already allowed to stay out from last 2.5 yrs(I have been working in Hyderabad from last 2.5 yrs.....away from my dear parents), they have allowed me to do night shifts then I don't see them having any problem in sending me to Goa...my parents have been through out very supportive.
P1:sad:Looking at my XAT score) : Tell me y low quant score though u r an engineer.
Me:Speechless......Tried saying that my strengths were VA & RC....me not able to put my knowledge into application based CAT & XAT questions......I have improved since my last XAT score..However, I think I should have worked harder.
P1:grin:o you what is hardwork..infact do u know how much hardwork u have to put in GIM or say any other management college.
Me:Yes Sir...I have heard that u get to sleep only for 3-4hrs..such is the amount of hard work to be put in..anyways since I have a difficult, stressful job,I don't find difficult in continuing the same in GIM.
P1:Okay, tell me what is more important?Getting good marks or getting marks without cheating?
Me:Getting marks without cheating.
P1: Are u sure?
Me:No doubt abt it.
P1:So, u mean to say that what all marks you have got in XAT are without cheating?
Me:Yes Sir(Should have stopped here...) Anyways Sir, there was no scope of cheating in XAT.
P1 & P2 both: (Laughing mockingly at me) So u mean to say that u would have done otherwise if scope was available.
Me::nervous:No No Sir.....I mean to say....(Oh GOD I kept on struggling for words.....apne he parr pe kulhadi marna)
P1:Any other calls
Me:No, this is the only call
P2:No call from XLRI.
Me:No...have low overall score.
P1&P2;:Okay Thank You

Ahhh.....finally over.....lasted for about 8-10 minutes.....No verification of marksheets or other certificates......just keeping my fingers crossed.

But, I should say that the faculty was very cordial & friendly. No stress interview etc.

All the best to other guys & gals.

hey everybody,
I think the trends are very apparent.... Gim has pre decided on GT topics and similar topics are der across various centers..... thus i guess same topic would repeat for the remainin days to come..... thus guys like me who have interview on the last date (8th) can take a cue from this and start preparin good answers for these group tasks !!!!

well...I am sure you missed the dates in the posts...
they have a different case study for every day and every slot ...
typically there are 2 slots per day...and 2 different case studies too for Group Task...
but ..yes the basic process will remain the same and one can prepare for that ...
preparing for topic already given would be taking it too far..
never mind

Here goes my GD/PI experience (dedicated to 'headturner' 😃 )

Venue:ISI, Delhi
Time :1:45 PM

So ,finally the GIM GD/PI is over and for me 2 done , 4 more to go (my kinda 6 calls) :)

and here I go :

Case Study :

About 3 job offers a fresher MBA has and as a group we were supposed to come out with a consensus on which one to be accepted.

Our group did fairly well , considering there was not a fish market and we did (somehow) reached upon a consensus.

PI:
I was the 5th one to be called,

P1:Prof.1
P1:Prof.2
M:Me

M:Good Afternoon Sirs.
P2:Good Aftnoon, please have a seat ..
M: Thank you sir.
P1: So xx.xx in XAT ?
M: Yes, Sir
P1:CAT?
M: xx.xx
P1:Which other calls you have ?
M: blah, blah
P1:So u are wrking with XYZ, good salary ,huh ?
M:Yes Sir , I Guess so

then P1 went on to ask me about how much raise expect by 2010 and other things ..moral of the story being ...do u understand the opportunity cost involved with your MBA and why MBA ?
M: blah..blah
P2:So what do u wrk upon ?
M:Blah ...Blah
P1:You said something abt stock market..so what would happen to a country without a stock market...will the economy of the country slow down ..?
M:Gave some answer trying to convince ..though not directly ..it would affect nation's
economy indirectly ..since major organization of the country won't be able to raise
money for expansion and future plans....
P1:What are the other ways through which a company can raise money ...
M:said something about Venture Capitalists and through bank loans etc ..
P2: asked something about my work-experience)
M: Blah ,Blah ..
P1:We are done , is there a question about GIM you want to ask ?
M: No sir, Thank you

Overall , I can't say anything about PI..but I think I did OK in case study.

What impressed me most abt the process was the no frills approach abt it ..documents were verified in the PI itself ..and the whole process was very smooth. If I am not wrong the entire process was conducted by 4 ppl only, now that's what we call efficiency.

Since I have started following the GIM thread and did a little research on the college...I was impressed with the earnestness that comes out of it all.Present student seem happy to be there and are very helpful. There is a certain element of modesty that comes out as an overall impression of the college.

They declared the cut offs and thanks for not having a weird profile based selection
which no one understands.

Today after having gone thru the whole GD/PI process this impression only got re-affirmed.I admire the way our panelists took the pain for telling about GIM.The way the expectations were set before the case study , explaining in detail about what they want out of the case study and from the group. It was a relief in this bewildering world of b-school selection procedures.

Even in my PI I was grilled on my work-ex and my opinions which I expect from a mature B-school.Most importantly I felt that the panel was interested in judging my suitability for the course and gave me a fair chance to prove myself. What I did with it, is a different matter altogether :)

Thanks for giving us the respect that I think we all deserve for being serious candidates. It was refreshing especially after giving some interviews where the panelist have a look at your profile AFTER you take a seat in front of them and insist on asking a questions which has got nothing to do with your background(and shows lack of any purpose abt asking such question in the first place).

I have no idea about my chances because of the confusing PI...but it was an honour to be part of such a wonderful process.

Wishing all the best to everyone for the results 😃

Accordin to the posts, mercy hospital and the kirana thing were repeated in banglr, delhi and kolkata centers on different dates........ even the parking thing too appeared in banglr and mumbai centre on same day and same slot....... wat i m tellin is that these topics are pre decided and not fixed by the moderators on the spot...... so naturally there is a high probability of the same topic re occouring.......

Venue:ISI, Delhi
Time :1:45 PM

i was in the same batch as m.i.stupid..infact i met one more puy there...so as he has already xplained our gt was ok(though i felt thoda thanda) n we did reach to a consensus..i must admit my summary was not up to the mark(i felt the moderator watch was tickin too fast as 3 mins went like a sec)
