Thanks dude! So you are in Hyd eh? I am planning on giving it sometime in april too. Haven't booked the date yet. I was wondering, can you use your debit card to pay the fee ? JK
I'm pretty sure you cant use your debit card to pay the fees. You have to have a credit card.
They simply charge you in dollars. The bank makes the conversion and charges you + dollar conversion fee which is quite small.

Yep, very much in hyd. And as Neo said, you can't use a debit card.
I am a s/w engg working in Hyderabad and in this profession for the past 2 years.
Just a month back I started studying for GMAT but unfortunately I am not being very regular (what with all the work not able to study everyday!!) with the prep.
I have almost completed GMAT Kaplan book (w/o the diagnostic test)...wanted to know what other books should I do prac from?
Also i havent as yet booked a date for the test, should I book it from now only though I am not even vaguely sure when will I be prepared enough to give the test
Anyways this is my 1st post on the forum and have joined it for some guidance and motivation 😛

The story is same with every working guy. But I guess you can always take out an hour everyday. Well, the one book without which you can't take GMAT is Official Guide. 11th edition is the latest one. Get it and start with it.

Do i need to buy the book or will get a softcopy from somewhere?? Also can someone tell where in Hyderabad will I get the OG?
there is a softcopy of the OG 11th edition on esnips....u can download from there :)
does anyone have the softcopy of Kaplan 800???
I don't think that all the sections of OG are there on esnips. Hardcopy can be found at any good book store (like Himalaya book store) I got it from an online website, where I have taken a membership which gives me 25% off on books. Let me know if anyone wants to use my account.

what do u mean by "not all sections"?? I downloaded the OG SC, Verbal from esnips....u mean to say that the book is not complete? or that there are other OG books also there?
please can u tel me the site...I would first like to check out the book on the site and its price.....
Its always a little surprising that you'll are willing to spend upwards of 20Lakhs on your foreign MBA but are unwilling to spend a few thousands on buying the books considering you will always be able to re-sell them once you are done with the exam.

Penny-wise Pound Foolish?
Actually i am one of them but i am getting the books xeroxed
Neo bhai..we have started our savings to fund our GMAT by not buying originals;)
Its been long since anyone scribbled smth in this thread.
I was wondering like CAT prep PG meets, why can't we have GMAT prep PG meets in hyd?? If it's already being done, then when is the next meet going to be?
Personally for me I need some motivation to kickstart my prep for GMAT. Infact I was supposed to start in Feb but its already gone. No point delaying it more. I think with likes of some serious puys for GMAT, it can boost up eveyone's spirits.
All those who are already through with GMAT can also come to share their experiences and if possible any materials.
I would be glad to meet even if one puy turns up to the meet (as is the case with CAT prep PG meets)
Neo
PS: Forsome reason i can't open PG in my office at times. and other times it does open. There's no firewall, nothing here but still browser takes infi time to open the link.
I am a gmat aspirant having close to 5 years of IT experience... Which institute in hyderabad is good when it comes to GMAT coaching princeton or visu??? Also the coaching fee of princeton is very high when compared to visu??? I am planning to give a try in August 08.
Please take your valuable time to answer my questions.
I believe you should make that PG GMAT Group. The regular junta had loads of meets inculding 10+ in a 2week period
Edited but i have no clue about PG GMAT meets last yr..did they have any?
whom do you mean by regular junta? PG CAT grp? I Was referring to PG CAT 07 grp (i was one of them)..and i know PG CAT 06 had a rocking PG meets..i think the case you mentioned falls under this category only..
