2-Modifier shooting is less preferable.
3- Now consider option D proves itself helpful-here cannon is proving itself which is incorrect.Consider option E.Cannon shooting has proved helpful or is helpful.Precise and logical.

HI Guys,
IF
"a cannon shooting dead chickens at airplanes has proved helpful to demonstrate "
needs to be used as subject then i think it should be
a cannon's shooting dead chickens at airplanes has proved helpful to demonstrate (possessive form)

so A IS OUT ,
E Is the ANS

Lemme know if im wrong.

Also someone please tell me which is correct
'helpful to verb' or helpful in verb+ing'

Hi Papa Ji,

Answer-E

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although Option-E is in passive, it reflects perfect subject.

Which is absent in all other option. The word "itself" mis-matches it, in all other options.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cheers !

We need to contrast the cannon with the jet.
cannon shooting - should be discarded since it contrasts an action of cannon, with the jet => A, B, C - out
Between D/E, E is better. There is no need to use "itlself" as is used in D.

Hence, E. Whats the OA?

3-them is the dangling modifier.Unclear whether them refers to customers or companies.Eliminate A.

Correct idiom is not only...but also.... So B,D and E are eliminated.
Now A and C remains.
them doesnt reflect the companies. Ask this question : Who are forced - companies? or the customers?
So answer is C :)

Question: In contrast to accredited universities that can grant degrees and whose students can be eligible for federal aid, nonaccredited colleges, while still able to enroll students and to provide instruction, cannot provide their students with the same types of services.
(A)nonaccredited colleges, while still able to enroll students and to provide instruction, cannot provide their students with the same types of services
-Perfect !
(B)nonaccredited colleges cannot provide their students with the same types of services, though still able to enroll students and provide instruction
-flow of idea is not correct.
(C)enrolling students and providing instruction, while unable to provide their students with the same types of services, are nonaccredited colleges
-ing form not required here.
(D)the services of nonaccredited colleges, while including the ability to enroll students and provide instruction, do not include the same types of services
-comparison between colleges...not the services
(E) those of nonaccredited colleges include enrolling students and providing instruction, but not the same types of services

I would go with A.
C,D & E were easy to eliminate.

(E) those of nonaccredited colleges include enrolling students and providing instruction, but not the same types of services

The modifier "cannot provide their students with the same types of services." must be close to nonaccredited collages. So B.

(E) those of nonaccredited colleges include enrolling students and providing instruction, but not the same types of services

"B" should be answer!
