Attaching a list of idioms that might help you in general.
Thanks for the list, but my doubt still remains unanswered
which is correct: 'is descended' or 'has descended', and why

'Has descended' implies a verb that has occurred in the recent past, which is not the case and hence 'is descended'.

A common social problem in the workplace occurs when workers accept supervisory positions, and it causes them to lose the trust of their former coworkers.
a. when workers accept supervisory positions, and it causes them to lose
no clear referent for it
b. by a worker accepting supervisory positions, which causes him to lose
no referrent for which + their can't refer to a worker
c. when workers accept supervisory positions, and so lose
precise answer. clear.
d. when a worker who accepts a supervisory position, thereby losing
a worker can't be referred to by "their" in the latter part
e. if a worker accepts a supervisory position, he would lose
comma doesn't relate the two parts, thereby creating a run-on sentence
Shruti676 SaysNot sure if 'so' is correct here...i think the answer should be A
IN A the referrent of "THEM" is ambiguous. SO A IS OUT
also the ambiguity shows in "IT"
