The answers, i think, are as follows:
1) Answer is D.
I ruled out A, B and C as i felt that they didnt comply with the paralelism stds. The second part says, ....while each year..... So the first part should be something that says every year..... So the first three are ruled out. E uses the word should which is wrong. Hence D.
2) Answer is C.
I felt this to be a bit confusing as compared to the rest. After the underlined part and comma, it reads.......all patients... So the first part should be referring to some human, not a transplant. So identical twins fits into that role perfectly. Moreover, It says, twins who have, the subject-verb agreement is correct. Hence C.
3) Answer is B.
This is a clear case of comparison. I was first confused between B and C. B turns out to be the winner.
4) Answer is A.
Depressed property values is the subject. It is plural. So there should be a plural verb. So D and E are out. B has, "in that their". It is not right. I think in C their at the end creates a problem. And also, "While depressed property values can hurt some large investors," should be followed by something that denotes depressed property rather than "forhomeowners". Hence A.

What are the OA's?? Can you post them plz???
Wouldnt totally agree on A here...
Reason: 1. "can hurt some large investors" is not parellel to "are potentially devastating for homeowners"... 2. "can hurt some large investors" is parellel to "can devastate homeowners" used in B.... 3. Moreover, i have seen "in that their" used at a number of places correctly... My take on q4: B.... ??: Any takers?? Sandybhai what say??

Hey righty,
In B, to whom does "their" refer? It can refer to either the "they" at the beginning of the underlined sentence or it can refer to homeowners. So its ambiguous. Think about it. Remember, whenever words like they, their, it its appears in the sentence, double check the antecedent !!!

hey man, if my answers not right, then theres no point in posting the wrong explns. Moreover, i couldn't pin point to one reason as to why this one's the right answer and this one's not. It was, i guess, too close.

If your answer wasnt correct, I wouldnt have asked you to explain, right? :)
Here is the O (A & E):
This sentence is awkward because the phrase "during its 1958 reorganization" interrupts the main thought of the sentence before mentioning the decision to sell. (d) oves the awkward phrase so that it appears after the word "deciding". Now the sentence sounds more natural and makes clear sense. (a) is out. We certainly do not want to stick with the original underlined portion of this sentence. (b) creates a problem by changing "duirng" to "at". (c) is just as awkward as the original version because of the phrase "for its decision to sell" at the end of the underlined portion. This version makes it sound like the company was reorganized of the purpose of deciding to sell on credit. (e) creates the same problem (e) did - by changing "during" to "at".
