I am ayush, bba graduate from india & have been preparing for gmat since september.
Hi. I initially thought of going for MBA during 2014 intake. But, due to some change in plans I am targeting 2013 intake and planning to apply in R3.
I am Vikram from Mumbai,India .
I was wondering what you thought of my chances of getting into my target schools:Harvard,Wharton, Stanford or Booth based on my stats:
I am an Indian male 26 years old
GMAT- 730
MBA-Finance(2011) : 3.0/4.0
B.E (IT)(2009) : 62%
XII (2005) : 71%
X (2003) : 78%
CFA Level III Candidate.
Extra curriculum activities : Mountaineering, Field Sports, Have a started a NGO , which is into Education and Family upliftment. NGO has impacted life of more than 100 people in India since its inception in 2009.
Letter of Recommendations from 3 CFOs of Large Corporates are expected.
Work Experience: 3 Yrs in Leading Financial Services Company with a focus on Debt/Mezzanine funding.Part of Credit Appraisal team.
Do you think i am strong candidate for these schools, given the fact this is my second MBA attempt within 2 years of passing out from the first one.
Thanks
Vikram
On an average how much time you dedicate for GMAT Studies? "GMAT by Apr 2013"
Starting my GMAT from this week, plan to write in Apr 2013. Joined a coaching centre so that I can get off to a good start and stay focused.
@aim720plus : R2 and R3 become very chaotic in terms of application, interviews, finance and admissions. For an international student, the best time to apply to majority schools (good ones) in R1 and keep one or two safe ones in R2.
In R1 and R2 you have the maximum chances of getting a scholarship, which is really welcome for international students like us, plus you also get ample amount of time for the bank affidavits and other documents for I-20 and the admission processes. God forbid if you get waitlisted in a good school in R3, they may confirm the decisions for admissions as late as the last week of August! ( I have been through the whole process and really really regret applying in R2, I had to stall my MBA plans since I got admission offer from UC in late August and things could not work out for me 😞 ) So, unless you are super-rich or super duper confident, I would not advise you to apply for R3.
Hi Guys,
I am planning to give my GMAT in March or April 2013 and would be starting my prep shortly. If anybody is interested in collaborative preparation, it would be great! We could share GMAT materials and it would also be helpful in doubts solving.
Cheers.
