Got only 26 correct out of 41 questions :(
Percentile 44 and sectional score was a mere 26 :((
Section correct wrong
SC 8 4
LR 10 5
RC 5 9
total 23 18
dont lose heart buddy,
i took a SC set yest. i was so happy as i felt i was getting all the ques right, UNTIL i had a look at the ans. out of 16 i got 8 wrong. man, i felt like quitting.
BUT,
as they say, 'ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY'. it'll take some time and then we'd rock big time.
so keep goin''''

Yday I took my first full length test (minus AWA). it was on pricetonreview site.
Math : 30 right, 7 wrong : sectional score 47
verbal : 26 right 15 wrong 😞 : sectional score 26
overall 600/800
i will post some of my math toughies here later.
This was one of the questions that stumped me in math - guess the right answer by fluke here:
If 125% of j is equal to 25% of k, 150% of k is equal to 50% of l, and 175% of l is equal to 75% of m, then 20% of m is equal to what percent of 200% of j ?
.35
3.5
35
350
3500
Its a simple one: Maybe you got it wrong cause of time pressures.

heres how.
125% of j is equal to 25% of k => 1.25j=.25k => 5j=k
150% of k is equal to 50% of l => 3k=l
175% of l is equal to 75% of m => 7l=3m
20% of m is equal to what percent of 200% of j = 0.2m / 2j = 0.1 * (m/j) = (0.1 * (7/3) * l) / j
= (0.1 *(7/3) * 3* k) / j
= (0.1 * 7 * 5j)/j
= 0.1 * 35
= 3.5
sorry rohit, but your answer is wrong. its a deceptive question. read again !
hey guys..
count me in.. i wil be appearing in apr'07..
have just started with the princeton 2007 edition..
regards

Can you tell the answer and the explanation please. I am still unable to get the deception
Plug In for j and solve for the remaining variables. If j = 100, then k = 500, l = 1500, and m = 3500. 20% of m is thus 700 and 200% of j is, of course, 200. 700 is 350% of 200.
this is from the site. even i donno how this worked !

My fault. i forgot that the answer needed to be in percentage. I gave you the ratio.
20% of m is equal to what percent of 200% of j = 0.2m / 2j * 100= 0.1 * (m/j) *100= (0.1 * (7/3) * l) / j * 100
= (0.1 *(7/3) * 3* k) / j *100
= (0.1 * 7 * 5j)/j* 100
= 0.1 * 35* 100
= 3.5 * 100 = 350 %

Small intro, I live in Orange County and working. My only worry is how much time I can devote becasue of my work schedules. Any guys in US and plan to take test in May/Jun 07 please discuss how you guys plan to schedule your test prep. That will help me in planning as well as motivation.

as far as i know you dont need a coaching class training for gmat. goto any leading bookstore and you can get some books on gmat like kaplan or princeton.
Not sure if you can get the official guide book in pondy.
Please search through PG site. lots of links are given for downloads.
all the best
