Got my official guide 11e yesterday. Brand new book ....Hope it helps.
Hey vivek u did a good thing buying the OG. It is the 'GMAT bible'. It will defenitely be of immense help. no doubt in that man.
its been some time since i posted on this thread. was a bit busy. resumed my preps once again. It seriously becomes very tasking, taking many questions at a stretch. I was solving RC and CR. In rc i found i could only manage around 15.
My mind automatically switched off after that. had to take a break. I have to get into the habit of putting in long hours or else ill be in big trouble.
hey vivek, in which site did u take up princeton's tests?? could u share it please. I would also like to take up a test and asses my score. have not taken ANY tests till date.
i am posting a CR doubt in the CR doubts thread. have a look and let me know. I got a bit stumped by the conclusion drawn.
guys, me in for prep. Wondering where to start from? Is it necessary to buy all the books mentioned?
Hey sda,
no need to go in for all the books. Kaplan and OG should do. And ofcourse u have the NET. u can find hella lotta info out on the net. so keep scanning. if u want a lotta practice then manhatan gmat and princeton books should be good. No need to get other matls.
U can start off with kaplan. get the kaplan verbal workout. its a good book for building basics. then u can go to the kaplan premier edition. then onto OG. (official guide). Its the bible for gmat.
BTW, when are u plannin to take up the gmat???

Just got out of the Kaplan online test ....got a 660 percentile 94 (V 38 Q 42 with 71% and 81% accuracy and percentile 87 and 88 respectively )..if anybody of you have taken this test ,please post the performance ...it will be veruy helpful for all others on the forum....
This is my second test after a dismal performance of 640 on Princeton ....last week ....
waiting for ur feedback....
I think Kaplan is tough to score. I took it myself and got630 the first time and 670 the next time.
But my GMATPrep tests have looked better. scored 690 the first time and 720 the second. Both times 51 in Q. Verbal needs more work though.
Hi,
I am the aspirant to take the GMAT exam somewhere in april. My problem is what are the things which i need to do what is the signifiance of each one .what these essays are all about and how to get started the prep and what are criterion for getting admission to good college and fee structure for taking the exam and then for applying.
Please if anyone can hep me out here or i have to taek some professional help from some coaching institute.
Thanks
Manoj
Hi I am also taking gmat during march april. started with sc.
planning to finish kaplan verbal and princeton verbal portion by december.
I dont know why people say kaplan 800 has got the toughest questions. i did some quants, but found them to be very easy, in fact anyone can solve them easily. is this the standard of gmat quants? and if anyone knows any good resource for probabilty and permutation, combination, please mention it here.
I have one request to all members of this thread : whenever u find a problem ,that u think u cant solve, or is out of the breed and needs some out of box thinking, please post it here. i'll post some problems every week. of course they'll be from the same books everyone is studying, but the discussions can definitely help all in stressing their thinking abilities.
Hey guys
Lets get it Started !!!
Am in for GMAT.I have around 18 months work ex, im planning to take gmat in May/June. I have been surfing for GMAT stuff and have got loads of it. But my sincere advise to fellow gmatter puys, dont get into collecting material fanatically. It all messes up your mind. Im currently reviewing the stuff and will update and contribute the forum about what material to be used for concentrated preps. Im targeting 750 range.Am currently in Bengalooru wish to be a regular at this thread and work along other puys

hi buddies,
Its been a long time sinse my last post. As usual, i got a bit busy. I am plannig to give my first assessment test this saturday. This test will be to know where i stand and to identify my trouble areas.
Can anyone suggest which test should i give for that? let us all give the same test (either kaplan or any other) so that we can compare.
I will post my score analysis as soon as i am through with it after the test.
For those friends who are still searching the study materials (which ones to buy), i would stongly advise them to get hold of them as soon as they can. remember its almost december ans many of us who plan to give their tests in march/april have already started their journey.
