I dont think that's completely correct. Heck what are PG meets for then?We do encourage you to meet and form groups and study and party and have fun and make friends for life and.........

You get the drift. The idea behind PG is to bring together a bunch of like minded people prepping for MBA exams (be it the CAT or the GMAT), to give them a common forum to be able to talk and discuss that benefits them/others as well.

We dont want you to give us daily update of what you are doing, the Y! group is perfect for that since there are a smaller bunch of people reading it--people who know you better and will therefore be a lot more supportive.
However, we would like you to visit PG just as often, and help out the others, both with your insights into the GMAT and with anything else possible.

Think of it as a way of giving back to PG what you got from them :-)

Hi Guys,
I need some help from you all . I took sample exam from Mba.com but i score only 310 . I am very dissappointed . I have princeton review , Kaplan and barron book and offical OG . I am bit confused where to start from . Kindly help to reach a better score .

strt ur prep with the OG 10 .... dont use barrons fr gmat ... its a waste ..... strt with OG basics .... then move to kaplan for verbal portion ..... dont take ne more tests for the next 2 weeks .... just concentrate on ur fundas ..... google out spidey's notes for SC .... strt working on 1000 SC ...... say 25 in a day .... know ur mistakes .... dont repeat them ..... maintain flash cards fr verbal bullet points .....

take GMAT as a game and u wud luv it .... follow the right steps and u wud ace it :)

for quants .... hmmm see the OG fr basic funda .... pick up any quant book fr CAT prep (CL wud b the best) ...... strt solving the elem. sums ..... this shud get u strtd .....

quant shudnt b much of a prob in gmat ...... but u gotta ace verbal if u aim at crossing the 700 mark ...

i am planning to give GMAT this year in June. i have 2.5 yrs of work ex. Request you guys to suggest whether June is the right month of the year to appear for GMAT, taking into account that most universities have their appln deadlines in aug/sep.

Hi friends..
I wrote my Gmat in Decemeber 2006 and managed a score of 670 ( 33 VA, 49 Q)
and I plan to write it again in May/June...
would be great if v cud share info and resources to ace the test...

Woof !! I am really down after scoring miserably in the fourth practice test yesterday. :sad:....Started preparing mid of jan and joined Veritas coaching at CL. They are good but somehow I am still unable to comprehend Grammer/SC funda's. SC is consistently haunting me. Here's the story so far:

Jan 15 - Started prep, GMAC Prep 1 - 590, Q 41, V 28.

Jan 23 - Kaplan test 1 - :sad: 540 (ppl say this is good since Kaplan's are hard nuts usually).

Feb 20 - Repeat GMAC Prep 1 - 680 - Q 48, V 34. - SC was the culprict...

Feb 26 - Veritas Prep 1 - :shocked: 540 - Q 37, V 23 - Verbal again, got 12 questions in SC and could only correct 4 ....

I am an engineer from REC Jalandhar and attribute the average Quant score to my basics in maths, but verbal is a miserable one and though I had always been rated as a good communicator in the companies I've worked (8 yrs, 3 companies), I find technicals in verbal way below average....I wish I score somewhere around the average score on the D day and hope Quant to save me from falling down.....

Believe me, 540 has rocked my belief....Hoping to turn it around next week in the next prep, with smilies......I'll :2gunfire:Sentence Correction !!!
