My name is Gautam. I am considering doing MBA from Doon Business School, Dehradun. Can somebody please highlight me about how is MBA program at Doon Business School worth?
MBA program at Doon Business School,Dehradun is respected a lot in India. It is the there flagship program. The placements of this program are really good. Plus the kind of exposure and learning you get is also tremendous. My cousin did it from there and is now a high flier in industry.
Where in most of the college is still following memorization technique, DBS believes in project-based learning. Taking students to incubation centres and making them believe in start-ups was the best part of studies. The college is a little strict with attendance as any B-School would be. The two years course is vast but one doesn’t have to read the books for everything. One can apply their brains and open to ask or suggest anything. The management of the college used to back student’s instinct. All in all, DBS not just make student learn but nurture them so that they can contribute in the future.
Faculty were special to me as one was open for suggestions with them. I told them where I come from and how things fared at my graduate college. However, the case was same with many because Indian education system is robust in premier institutes while it is in sad condition in many. Coming to the faculty, they have always been the backbone of students at DBS. Many games were designed through which the faculty used to check our knowledge and skill set. If there was even the slightest room open for improvement the faculty would give genuine help to the students.
If you were to take my words then I would say the placements were great. Many started comparing ROI and other colleges’ students’ package but one has to look at the geographical location too. Uttarakhand doesn’t have many known industries and almost all the companies that visited campus offered jobs in Delhi-NCR region. Banks, securities companies and FMCG names were among the ones who offered jobs.
