My age is 31 yrs, If I apply in IT Officer scale 1 and clear the written exam, Do I will be eligible for interview in participating Bank as many were asking for max yrs as 30.

@anjali- - - ibps has not mentioned Tht experience candidates need to. Apply for scale 2 only.. It's our will.. Last yr one of my knowns who had an exp of 2 yrs applied for scale 1 n got hired by canara bank n he suggested me to. Go for scale 1 this yr.

@htmailr process will end this yr but will start after may 2013 as previous exam score card is valid...have u decided which one to apply...

Experience ka matlab tab hota jab paper (technical part) difficult banta ho(Scale --1).....toh experience waale ki knowledge kuch kaam aa sakti hain....
banks ko koi expert nahi chahiye....officers chahiye.....aur waise bhi jis bande ki reasoning eng aur maths strong ho(guys preparing for PO,CAT)...they might be able to easily outperform a experienced guy (who might not have remained in touch with these subjects)....all they need is a qualifying score in PK...aur final merit mein written ka acha khasa contribution hain.....
So there is no need to worry...

@sangudash Still confused which one to apply.. i have about 2 years of exp in IT .. i am eligible for It officer scale 1, scale 2 and technical officer but i know for ece there will be fewer vacancies and for it officer scale 1 there will be more vacancies and my exp wil help at the same time competition will be no less here as well. if have to take a call I may go with It officer scale 1.. what do you think ?

You shud give the exam...its not sure what criteria banks will have after the second round of CWE....Some might have an upper age limit of 35

If your experience is something which can impress the Bank's HR...like you worked on important projects which they may find relevant...then go for Scale 2....
if Not...then scale 1 ......the cutoff for scale 2 is higher than scale 1 (134 versus 128)
