today was my interview.. there were four male members in the panel..no female panelist. ..they didn't ask even a single question from banking or my graduation subject...just asked few current affair and GK and questions and asked me to leave...it was of just 5-7 min duration.... feeling disappointed 😞 .. I had worked hard and prepared so much for this interview...and they just finshed it in 5 min. 😞

I answered interest in exports (was told dis at mahendras) and growth prospective,i thought i was saved,but to my utter dismay, first bouncer-tell me what is anti dumping duties in export,u have interest in exports na.(aur phek tu beta), i was like sir aage se nahi bollonga ye interst in export,bache ko maaf kardo abhi :-(
My first impression gone bad, i was feeling like i m in iraq,surrounded by terrorists and i was like stammering at that time . 😉
Some how controlled my calm (actully not)

Current deficit-crap don't why i didn't remember at that time,i tried to say an aiwain type answer and mam looked it me like i have asked her kidney (3 idiot dialogue 😃 ),den said the last resort,sorry mam i don't know
Asked abut Make in India-almost answered.
Why RRB's established -answered ,for rural purpose as commercial banks was not able to concentrate on rural needs which are large percentage of india,i know the answer was correct but he was testing my patience since i have said patience as my strength .:-(

why RTGS is real time-answered by comparing them with NEFT and some bla bla,not intervation,continuous,fast etc etc,they seems satisfied with that.
Overall-screwed interview,lets hope for the best 😃

first question about my family , educational background... question related my native place...didn't answer properly.....
As ECGC is my first preference they asked me to explain what is ECGC...explained....
then he asked what is packing credit???....never heard that word so told the same..."no idea"..............................next he asked which bank account u have ??? how to open bank account???...told
.........then madam asked " what is money laundering"
explained ...................actually i told "the illegal way of hiding the source of money".........................so one of them laughed and said "hiding is legal".....i too accepted my mistake........then just little HR.....they also asked the attempts .....what ever question they asked is in Hindi but i use both Hindi and English as i prepared my HR part in English...will that create any problem???

Do we need to read & write in local language for clerk intrvw. ? Also,is there a chance to get the same panel(at least 1 person) for both PO & Clerk intrw ?

Some ways to avoid being an 'over-smart'....(most of these won't look being an over smart in our eyes...but it is not so for the intrvw panel).
1.Be polite and give respect when u say some names...for eg. u r asked abt bharat ratna...and in b/w u say d name of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi.....so instead of saying just Bhimsen Joshi,add Pandit to it...also,if u r sure abt a person holding doctorate or medicine graduate,then only add Dr. to his/her name.
2.Try to reply in the same language as the questions were asked to u.....in unavoidable situations,u can reply in another language..but do ask permission to use the language of ur convenience..
3.Don't make unnecessary noise while walking...
4.Don't try to give answers like an attempt to crack joke and create a pleasant environment....they will laugh but in papers,it will be against u..
5.There are no hard and fast rules for dressing....like a person wearing so & so color costumes only will get selected....what matters is formal dress in light color....don't mention abt it unless asked...like a man wearing a yellow shirt and saying tht yellow is his lucky color without being asked.
6.Don't over read and tell in deep...for eg.when NPA is asked...be to the point...and don't jump to SARFAESI Act all on a sudden...if they want to knw more they will ask.
7.Also,if u dn't like chocolate,then no issues....but if they r offering it,take one....
8.If u r having fever or cold,have the kerchief in ur hand itself....they r all humans and they knw it....
9.Don't boost urself.
10.Don't be over diplomatic....

These are the questions asked to me:
General: Something about yourself, Place i live, why banking, what will you do if you are made PO and given all you need for increasing the profitability of bank in your area.
Good Questions: I was asked about my DEs(Departmental Electives) that i have taken during graduation(I'm a B.Tech in ECE).
Prominent personalities currently living at my place.
Case: A software engineer has developed a 'Software for a bank' and he needs a loan, what will he keep as security with the bank.
I gave answers to all their questions. I'm quiet happy to do so.

Interview Experience: Canara Bank, Circle Office, Bangalore
Interview was good. There were 4 panelist, 3 Male and 1 Female, all retired banking professionals. They stressed more on personal profile like the background of the family and graduation. Couple of questions on banking like why are PSU banks called PSU banks? What are private sector banks, who controls them? I particularily mentioned about my interest in personal finance side so they questioned me in and out about Mutual Funds which I was very comfortable answering. Questions were like what are mutual funds, how are they managed? What is dividend? What is the difference between dividend and interest? One of the panelist asked the question on one of my graduation subjects in which i scored the least marks in my 8th Semester. Question was What is Consumer Electronics, which I managed to answer.
Overall a decent interview. Panelist were very coordinating.
