ICFAI students are not getting their degrees

hi..plz tl me abt icfai gurgaon...i ev heard it has sum prob. wid its recognition thing..n d placemnt r also nt very gud..moreovr d new buildin is very small, infrasture is also nt very gud..shud i go fr it?

The earlier post is very irrelevant as posted amid the discussion. The discussion was about the IBS campuses located in different parts of India. The discussion was not meant for only a single campus like IBS Hyderabad. Moreover, there is no problem with IBS Hyderabad since is a deemed university recognized by UGC, everyone knows about it and not a breaking news to be posted again.
The Approval of AICTE sanctioned for any private deemed university would be temporary for a year or so then the review committee would revisit the campus to grant the permanent status and that would be in effect for the next 5 year. The status is supposed to be reviewed every 5 years for all the deemed private university.
This secured legal position of IBS Hyderab doesnot secure other campuses of IBS since IBS Hyderabad cannot run any course outside its territory. There is no problem with IBS Hyderabad in terms of its legal status or placement so no point of discussing about it. ICFAI university in Dehradun, is also secured in terms of its legal position but weak in placement. Personally think, not a good idea to invest such amount for Dehradun campus. Till last year, it was out of questions and so did not reflect in the Program Option form. The placement is good and decent for so many years in other IBS campuses not because of ICFAI university but due to a well coordination between IBS respective campuses and IBS Hyderabad since IBS been converted in a brand value. BUt the problem has started since it has loops in its legal status and this has been taken a very serious view by Supreme Court as in the case verdict till now and also by Hon Hrd minister Mr Sibal as his voice echoed in Parliament.

My dear friend, In my belief, for joining in any B-School, one should look for whether the institute is providing the worthful education which is in reach to the coporate world or not. Rest all the things like approvals and renewals should leave to the respective institute as top most B-Schools are not approved by AICTE.

thnx fr ur reply,m realy enlightend..

How can one leave it to the institute. Since in case of adverse situation, it is the student who would suffer if not financially but would lose time. Today many seniors are there in deifferent campus still not sure if they are secured and praying to somehow pass through this phase and reach the campusing phase. But still a long way to go.
Other top B school are not Aicte approval, but has UGC approval for the respective inst. and most of them donot have branches or if they have have in one or two places. For those branches they comes under proper UGC Act, not under 22(A) that doesnot allow a university to set up a campus outside its territory. For each IIM campuses, they donot have AICTE approval , but has state Legislation. Unfortunately, some inst like IBS has campuses in different part of India and do not have state legislation. So, Hrd Min marked IBS Gurgaon as illegal. When Supreme Court declared fake for 22 colleges, the court refused to put any stay order atleast considering the current batch and allow them to pass out. The court took a strong view and held students studying those colleges to be responsible to some extent since they didnot check UGC site and clarified about the inst. This is the truth and fact. So, what do you think an institute can do once the verdict is out and unless it is in favour of their inst.
Otherwise, there would not be any incident of rampaging the college after the verdict and thousands of students were forced to take a mass movement on the street. This is happening for every year for one or two colleges or deemed university.
They are not categorising between a bad private player and a good one. If they had then they would never had included IBS name among other insts. Two key factors like placement records, faculty and the quality of education are not taken in consideration by "Them" who are in charge of affair of state and education.
Better not to ask any juniors to be blind and let whatever happens happen. But yes of course who has apetite for taking risk and least bother about the verdict and consequences and wanna "take a chance", they should not actually read any of my post since it would waste their time.
But what about them who are more calculative and can afford to take calculative risk and the risk is that they are already decided to study through loan. They should know everything, atleast I feel, analyse and then decide accordingly. By now they know advantages and disadvantages (pros and cons) of Hyderbad, other campuses and those two university campuses.

Hello Everyone,

this is to inform u'll that DON'T build too much hope on ICFAI.....any campus.....its also being said that from this new batch onwards i.e Batch 2010 - 2012 onwards they are NOT goin to give an MBA degree.....it will JUST BE a PGPM (Post Graduate Program in Management). ONLY IBS (ICFAI Business School) Hyd will be givin an MBA degree.......other campuses will give PGPM............

Its NOT AT ALL worth d fees u'll will be paying say 8.5 lac + other living exps etc. The placements also u'll can't expect much.......u'll must have heard it all depends on an individual n all that..........but wht will u do when they can't get good companies.....

Apart from that d management is really sick......its NOT AT ALL WORTH d money u'll r putting in..............

if u'll think to get in IBS Hyd....with things like oooo wow d infrastructure is good.......n all that don't fool urself.........its impossible for them to place 1200+ students.......

also note this yr many campuses have been shut down...like IBS Chennai, IBS Goa & few others.........

think for urself...............speak to the current senior batch of 2010.....n then make a decision............

do good ground work...........

PLZ MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION.............

U appears 2 b completely confused and confusing others. IBS has got excellent industry recognition. In my belief what degree we get is not the matter, the exposure we get in the institute and to the opportunity to get placed matters. Pl tak a cal as suits.
Firstly u should know yourselves where u stand in terms of getting admission, when u do not know don't give suggestions to others.

how is IBS Hyderbad at all related with other campuses getting shut down. I guess it was me who mentioned that there are other campuses as well besides tamil nadu to get closed.. But that is a fact. How IBS Hyd can be related..
IBS Hyderbad operates on its own and not dependent on other campuses. rather other campuses are dependent on Dehradun and Hyderbad.

I also mentioned why Dehradun can not be good opt over other campuses. But I fail to see any flaw in IBS Hyderbad.Atleast at this stage..
It has good infrastructure, faculty. in fact all the IBS campuses posses these qulities. But the question comes in terms of security and non secured campuses since after all it is a huge investment.
Hyderbad as excellent placement record with good package. I feel no one has to bother to repay loan with that kinda placement. Hyderbad is deemed so atleast within campus, the students are secured. The Journals published is as par need of todays corporate world.

Frankly I am very disappointed about the problem that IBS is undergoing through. If I was in power, had authority, since I know how genuinly IBS has functioned for so many years, I would not have imagined IBS to be in trouble. They never overlooked the interest of the students and they try to offer more what they can. Would have been better not to put down some crude fact, but it is in interest of the prospective candidates who are going to invests and some of them have to make it though loan. Even now the management is trying best to overcome the difficulties and secure everyones interest. But there is a but..After Yash pal Committee report, once again the private deemed universities are going through rough road. This time it is worst since there is a thought reflection that they are not as per interest of the student and moreover is violated "Law of the Land".. I think the later is more imp to Them than actually reviewing and categorizing between a good and a bad private college and taking feedback from the students would have made them to understand how well this Inst has functioned for a decade..

Ibs Hyd. IS 'deemed to be' university!
Ibs university which give u mba degree are

@ayush123 watever u say the only fact is IBS Gurgaon is not UGC certified dats it. that's the most and the only important thing which ends everything, when the UGC doesn't allow/certifies/give authority to such college then what's the use of wasting ur time, money and career in such college.
