So last option boss,
ICICI will ask for relieving letter or some proof that u left ur previous organisation.U can give anything.Just take the print out of resignation mail or sumthing. So just see if you leave in between 3 months widout completing bond then wat will be legal n final implications.

see dude wait for the results... then once u get selected u can ask ur management team that u have got a better opportunity than wat u r doing now... if still the management is stubborn...ask it if it promises to give u a manager's role with 15 lacs package after 2 yrs continuation with IBM...then u will stay or else u cannot loose such wonderful opportunity...
Look amit , in the mail which I got(from IBM US) . It is clearly mentioned that my last working day is 6th of April and my manager has accepted the resignation . Yesterday, I had a chat with our HR partner . He clearly told me whatever may be the reason we can't release you before 9th may(3 months) .. I even asked him that I am going for further study . So exception must be there . I even agreed to buy the 30 days notice period or to work on weekends/ extra hours to complete it . even asked him to compensate it with my last year leaves(around 16 leaves) .. But is is firm on his decision that we can change our policy.
But my manager commited a mistake and wanted to rectify it . She is forcing me to write a mail that I want to extend my notice period till 9th may . Now I have legal proof that they accepted my resignation .All the tools are updated (keeping my last working day as 6th april ) they have to give me relieving letter at any cost . If they don't I can challenge them . So , they started playing a game like give ur concurrence that u want to extend ur notice .. then we will talk to higher mgmt . I know higher mgmt won't ever agree on this . Also , they can't extend my notice period without my concurrence (which would be illegal).
So, to be at safer side , I am not giving my concurrence to extend the notice period .
Guys plz suggest me if I am doing anything wrong . I don't know what an organization can do as I have legal proof that my resignation is accepted .

Hi anupam You can ask little more time from PM/HR, may b one more week to think about concurrence... this wil help u in putting resignation matter on ice until result declaration.. Once result gets declared, u wil b clear in your next move....i.e. whether to take back resignation or following up ur resignation date i.e 6th april. hope it helps regards, puneet

in ICICI bank t notice period is 3 months and there is no buyout option too and icici bank expects us to join within 1-2 months its not fair on icici part. they should have started the selection process atleast 5 months prior to april

there will be no adverse effects dude...don't worry abut that..just go and talk to ur senior management and explain ur achievements.. convince them and then they might surely waive off the notice period.. rules are meant to be broken..even at my company i was releived in just 15 days even when the notice period was for 2 months...

My one frnd had same problem in infy.He went to HR and told them that he would commit suicide if they would not release him and he was released on the same day.

Even in my organization one of my colleague fired a mail directly to VP , GM's ... stating he want to leave the company as company had done injustice with him . The language of mail is so scary that company relieved him on very next day :)

Punnet, you are 100 percent correct .Even I was thinking the same . But today only ,i got more than 15 calls from my senior manager so called people manger to give my concurrence .
I told her ok , n taken emergency leave for 2 days(today n tomorrow saying someone is ill at my home). n switched off my official number . So, now she cannot contact me till monday . N we can hope result would be declared by tomorrow . It's bit childish but I feel no other option is there.. :(

Haha...that's really funny man. But in Infy they have the policy that if you are going for higher studies and you show them relevant proof then you can be released in one month.

IBM is really a very worst company , what I feel now . HR and senior management are simply telling , you were knowing that the notice period is of 3 months . SO , why din't you initiated the process of seperation 3 months earlier .... .. just an stupid excuse ..
Now they started appeasing me by saying give ur concurrence mail for extending your notice period . We will try to reduce it as much as we can ...But I know once I give my concurrence , they will not going to leave me before 9th May , correct ?

I have a very close friend who was HR manager with Symantec earlier and now with Aviva. Of whatever I have heard from him al these years, I can say you haven't taken the right decision to resign for a period of merely 10-12 days. (Sorry frnd, but true) Obviously, quitting 10 days earlier would not have completed ur notice per policy anyways. But u r now being forced to play with ur HR and ur mngmnt. Had u waited for 10-12 days, u would have had a clear picture on your hand if u hav been selected or not and u cud have been firm and fought with ur mngmnt.
My doubt is that u dnt have mny options left now rather than sticking to ur resignation. Also, start searching for a new job incase u get a 'NO' from ICICI.
Try to make peace with ur manager and HR asap and until you leave. All HR these days is very connected to each other. They send/receive updates about all employees before joining. Make sure ur profile is not spoilt by ur HR. Never good to carry a bad name in the long run.

Actually , as per IBM policy an employee can revert the process of resignation any time during the notice period . So, incase I din't get selected I will revert my decision .
It was not like I was over confident that I will 100 percent get selected . I did it just because in IBM there is notice period of 3 months . So, I thought of serving as much as I can .
Now as far as going against HR and organization , I have a legal mail that resignation is been accepted by the management(of 6th April) . They realized their mistake yesterday and now they are forcing me to send concurrence mail to extend my last working day .(9th may). Which is impposible for me to accept incase I got shortlist (chances are less but still have hope)..
Now, what you say Kapil.
Please suggest me (I feel I do'nt have any other option)...
