hey dude yes this is venkat..my interview went for some 20 mins but the panel was not so satisfied with my answers...

my GD has completed today at delhi centre.......first they collect 2 copy of CV and 2 photographs.after that they make a group of 10 people and give them 3 page case stduy and a blank sheet also. within 15 min. you have to read analysis and make your point at paper. point is manner of first problem, second obesarvation and than last suggestion........after 15 min they will collect only ur analysis sheet. case stduy u can use during discussion. than GD will start.after 10 to 15 min of discussion, they will give chance every person for her or his thoughts about case study.now after completion of GD they will declare result within 20 min...

My topic was related to a company which has two division x and y..u can see this topic in early posts..........in my group they select only 3 people out of 10.............i was not in selected people.......in my group 9 boys and one girl.........9 boys was suggesting second option and only that was suggesting first option.........a boy started first discussion and he was selected..........girl was also selected bcz she has different views and she was not with all boys........her views was good and explanation was also good....and one another boy was also selected bcz he was discussing with that girl and that boys who started GD......we all are just listening bcz all didnt want to make it as fish market and some times we are putting our also...........very bad experience.............we all was good but but they selected only best candidate.....................thanks

@[602435:Nitinagra]--thankx for sharing ur exp...can u plz brief the gud points that girl n other ppl made in ur grp...it will be really helpful...thanx

....so done with GD/PI around 2 hrs back.mine was scheduled at kolkata center at south city international school.GD went good got a caselet on division X/Y of company A with scenerios and required you to choose among the given options as the CFO of the required course of action:whether to sell off that loss making arm or bring in a strategic investor.i went ahead with the second one..quickly jotted down points on analysis sheet which was taken away..extempore time was real short,so try to keep it crisp and precise.GD as usual turned fish market but I managed to drive home the point which I backed on a lot of statistics.out of our group of 10,five went through.

PI panel consisted of 3 people, one gentleman from NU while other boy and girl from ICICI(they told me their designations but I forgot)questions included:

1)Tell me about urself and your background.2)why you plan to leave your lucrative job and take a pay cut which provides world travel for this programme( I am a marine engineer btw)..(I can answer that one even in the middle of the night)

3)will you as an engineer add more value to the company than a CA or someone with finanace background?( I told them Elvis presley was a bus driver before he became Elvis presley, supported my argument with the fact that K.V.kamath former ceo of ICICI was a mechanical engineer..also listed engineers in their board of directors---they said they were impressed by the research)

And a lot of other stuff..it lasted 20 minutes, kept a smile on my face and their cordial and accommodating nature put me at ease…being yourself helped!!

Fingers crossed for the result..i gave my best!

done with GD/PI today...got Pear & Cement Corp case study for GD...was the 1st GD of my life...four of us from grp of 10 were selected...reporting time was 9:30...GD took place at 11:30...PI happened at 4:15...was for abt 17-20 mins...forgot to mention i am going to appear for CA final in Nov...No technical / finance / Banking related questions were asked... panel were asking why u want to do CA & MBA...when i explained y MBA...they were like complete CA and join us...we will make u job ready by just 3 months training...while in MBA it will take u 24 months...also its(MBA) goin to cost bank more...i think they are more interested in getting ppl from IT and related background...thts wht i felt...was a good learning experience overall... any ways hope for the best...

not sure about people attended interview..But on an average we can take 50% participants

in most GD's 5 people on average selected, but for some groups they selected 7 also

I don't understand when ICICI is looking for only engineers why is it wasting time of other experienced graduates... this is all bull shit.. **** the hiring process by ICICI..it shouldn't advertise that graduates from any discipline can apply..

@[561421:mba85pag] I guess u r missunderstanding something..

In MBA streams there is one Option as IT, i am sure that they will select IT candidates only for that.

and for remaining 2 streams (Risk and relationship) they will consider all other profile.

Please have patients.. once the result is out u will get to know ...

I had my GD PI yesterday (Pune location), reached at 9:30 sharp , waited for 2 hrs for panel allocation and GD process. Discussed on company A (X/Y division) case study. 3 out of 10 got selected, I was the lucky one, in other batches ratio was 7 or 6 out of 10 (total around 35 out of 80).Again waited for three hrs for my PI turn,
Two guyz were there, and here they started.
Asked me following questions:-
1) My introduction
2) Why I've selected risk management, as i am from IT back ground I should go for IT operations.
Ans :- I njoy playing with numbers and analysing statistics .
3) What do you understand by risk management? I explained them different type of risks and how can we analyse those risks so that loss can be minimized.
4) Then he gave me 4 to 5 mathematics questions ex: which scenario should I chose
a) Investing Rs1000 and getting Rs 1000 after three years with 8% ROI each year.
b) Investing Rs 1000 and getting Rs 1100 after three years with 7% ROI each year.
Other questions were also based on Investment and all. I gave all correct answers, questions were easy, I guess what they were looking for was how fast and accurate I can analyse things.
5) What you know about subprime crises. I explained them to its depth, it seems they were impressed.
6) What's my role in my team?
7) If I have faced any situation where it was needed to analyse finance related scenarios.
8) What I have done to increase efficiency of work in team.

I answered all questions confidently. They asked me if I am ready to relocate anywhere in India, If I have any blood relative working in any of the ICICI groups.
Finally they said “It's nice meeting you” shake hands and I left the room.

It was really a grt exp for me.

I have no patience... The selection process by ICICI is entirely stupid.. and you know what..even ICICI employees compete with us for the program and also with the internal info got to know that around 30% of the program students has to be ICICI employees...

I am sure you are selected, Probably they will ask these relocation questions at the dates before announcing results, so be ready

@[602194:murali603] not sure dude as selection ratio is very low.

ICICI should conduct HR session after selection process , where candidates can clarify their doubts like CTC break up, Every year increament, department selection etc.

Also what if somebdy have 3 months of notice period and classes are going to start before that.
