I just saw the Ad in Times of India today regarding this course and it is really exciting to see such a course. Actually I am preparing for GMAT and will give it by end of December and I am going to try for universities abroad. But after seeing this course structure its really an exciting course as one gets to do Internships along with the course curriculum. They are providing not one but 2 internships, that too for 6 months each. Also the MBA in Finance thing is really encouraging, since even if I manage to do my MBA from any other university abroad, I might not end up doing Finance oriented course and hardly one can get a 3 to 6 months internship in abroad.
Since I wanted to do an MBA course and major in Finance I am really excited to apply for this course in NIIT-ICICI BLP program. But I have certain doubts regarding the course.
If time permits please answer my queries.
1) Will the MBA in Finance course valid once we come out of working with ICICI after 3 years?
2) I am an Engineering graduate with 6+ years of experience in IT-Software, 10th-87%, 12th- 93% and UG- 71%. Do I stand a chance in getting a call for this course considering I have no background on finance apart from a project which I was involved in the software company I was working with.
3) It seems to be like this time around the BLP program does not have an entrance test as well as GD round. Can you confirm with someone maybe a professor to confirm about these tests whether they exist or not.
4) According to my understanding there are 3 different streams that we can select in the 5th and 6th terms of the BLP course they are Global banking, Risk Management and IT.Since I am very much interested in Risk Management part of the course, can I pursue the risk Management part in the terms 5 and 6 and get a career based on Risk Management in ICICI Bank despite having an IT background for 6 years.

In today's Ad in TOI , I saw that apart from the regular domains of specialization they have added Commercial Banking too.
Can anybody please advice on what basis the specialization is offered to a candidate..?
After seeing this specialization Commercial Banking, I am quite apprehensive about this course.
As far as my knowledge is Commercial Banking is all about Loans.
Please advice & correct me if I am wrong here.

@neeraj_gset - In yesterday's TOI Ad, Commercial Banking was mentioned in the Program structure as one of the subjects in the course, but not as area of specialization. Also in their website its not mentioned anywhere that commercial banking will be an area of specialization.
In the FAQ section of their website its mentioned that the area of specialization would be
wholesale banking, global risk management and information technology functions of the bank.
The definition of Wholesale banking from Investopedia seems to be -
Banking services between merchant banks and other financial institutions. Wholesale banking deals with larger institutions, where as retail banking would focus more on the individual or smaller business. Some services might include currency conversion, working capital financing and large trade transactions.
So the question of dealing with loans should come under Retail banking/Commercial banking as per the above definition.
Hence we can worry less I guess, on that front.

VPIN... MBA will be given by NIIT University but not ICICI, so it is valid even after you come out of ICICI. But, what you should think is whether the MBA from NIIT Univ is worth in the industry or not!!
