Just finished the GD, am through. waiting for the PI. Centre is Kolkata. GD topic was a case study on an agricultural business and whether or not to fund the business.

Hi Puys!!!!
Finished with GD & PI today at Pune....
GD topic was about the fitness brand expanding to tier II and III cities...and their recent financials along with estimated future prospects are given.... You being a financial manager..has to take decision whether to grant them loan or not??? Pretty simple if you just speak on basic sense...and not with the figures all the time.... The GD group was of 12 guys.....and hardly 2-4 were selected...infact there was a group where only one got selected.....
At our centre..and my panel...was going deep into TECHNICAL questions.... some of the guys were asked about programming and different languages... (I'm not an IT guy...so can't help here)... and same questions like...why should they take you?// why only this programme??? It was going on for 45 mins.... others had it upto 15-25 mins.... and yes every panel has a fellow who will negate each and every point you say....
And yes...i had a panel of 6.... 😞 rest all had a panel of 3 .....
that's it guys... feeling satisfied with the experience... ATB to all...

The major info was the company revenue, gross and net profit for 2011 n 2012 and estimates for next two years... Note one point here that the company has started in 2003.... so the figures will tell you the tremendous growth potential the business had... the net profit in 2011 was sumthng 240 crores.... and some inf about their current cash reserve and debt are given..

The time given for reading and writing the analysis is 10 min.... read it fast...just a glance...and try to put down as many points as you can on the sheet..they will be referring it later... there were some 7-8 questions asked...so, i tried to put some points for each question...
My analysis didnt had any points on the financial jargons.... as mentioned in previous post i had just putforth the observations on their growth.... and precisely the questions were asked about what you as a manager will suggest.... so i explained that the case study doesn't provide any info about their market expansion plan..... so i suggested to go them in a phased expansion plan....as they were also having some amount of debt... and a question about pros and cons of franchisee and owned model of business was also asked.

PI over, was a fine experience. They grilled me about my resume, and surprisingly over some mathematical formulas. You can never be sure about what they are looking for. Just be yourself, give your best shot.
