hi harini,

I think the best way u can get details is to contact those banks.

hello puys,

need some help!!!

I wanto pursue my MBA in the field of Finance only. I heard abt IGTC and its tie up with all the well known German companies. But, i also heard that this course is not a specialization and it just provides a general MBA sort of a degree. I am not much bothered abt the course being AICTE approved or not. I just wanto know whether there are any companies which provide internship in the financial domain (especially the ones which deal with asset management or banking or investment banking etc)?

Please some body shed some light on this aspect as well.

well, from going through the starting page, i can't get enough detail about how this coll is etc..

Can anyone tell clearly how is the college, placements, etc etc??
Pls

Hi. This is Ratnesh From IGTC Batch 2009-11.

A lot has been said about IGTC in these posts. Trust Me, Most of it is a piece of trash. IGTC was started in 1991 by companies like Boch, Siemens & Bayer as they wanted to train their Indian employees to have managerial skills considering the change in Economic policies of country. Candidates in IGTC were company sponsored till 2001.
In 2001, the course was made open to public & candidates started paying for their own training. The companies instead of sending their employees, started interviewing candidates & selected them for the course. This implies that when the candidate needs training ( internship) in his curricullum ( ie in jan-feb, june-july, nov-dec) the company will train him in their company & MIGHT absorb him if he aquires necessary skills & is employable on the basis of his performance.

Our course started in month of August & i'm extremely happy with the course so far. I was interning with Bosch Limited, Bangalore in my 1st Phase of training ( Jan-Feb 2010) where my project valuation was 18 millions. It involved working in Finance department & coordinating with Logistics, Quality Control, SAP department to achieve the project objectives. This was my individual project where i had a dedicated mentor who was a deputy manager of Finance.

One of my collegue was working in logistics where he was working on company objective of sending 80% of inventory directly to the assembly line. Another collegue was working on Value chain analysis of security systems. Many other students in our batch had similar projects in various companies. In Bosch, We had a trainee from Bangalore who was training under the VP of Bosch. Her job was related to working capital budgeting which involved getting detals from 21 people making recommendations which company wanted to implement.

About lecturers... All our lecturers come from Welingkars, SP Jain, NMIMS, JBIMS & Sydneyham. Its fun to work on college projects as you always work in different groups which promotes class unity.

The corporate exposure is good. In our 1st sem, we attended the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce Annual General meeting which was presided over by Mr Deepak Parekh. This event at TRIDENT was attended by all top management of all German companies. Even the Senior's convocation in April 2010 will be conducted on the same scale.

The placements season went well with everyone getting package between 4-6.5 lacs. We are more active on facebook & orkut when it comes to attending queries. Do feel free to ask your queries over there.

Will any other company consider this program... or there wont be any need to look for any other company ?

With companies from all background participating as training partner program, u dont need to look elsewhere. Deutsche Bank & Development Bank of Singapore from Banking, Hypercity from Retail, Audi, Volkswagen from Automobile, Bosch in automobile parts, BASF & Bayer crop science in Chemicals, Merck in Pharma are to name a few.
Great! Which advertising agency are you from?

Banned for trying to suspiciously advertise for IGTC.

Rohit

Dear friend, pls do not waste ur 18 months of time by joining the IGTC PGPBA programme. trust me i have suffered enough .

Reasons:
1.all the 4 igtc's are headed by the most dumbest inexperienced people who were working earlier at IGCC or living as a loser.
2.no recognition.
3.incompetent teaching faculty.

the 6 month internship is of no use at all !
they give u data entry or just ask u 2 do a survey ( ie data collection) n the interning company.

They tell its a non profit making organisation and ask you to pay service tax in the fee.

all those who want 2 join IGTC BEWARE !

work hard and do well in ur cat, xat, mat, ibsat, snap and other mangmnt aptitude tests.
if u still want to ruin ur life by joining IGTC , i dont wanna stop u !

just bcos u have ruined ur life doesnt give you the authority to ruin others life

and all the above mentioned companies dont hire or provide training !
they ask u to 2 do data collection or data entry and u think that u have worked in logistics, operations, finance, marketing etc.
we all know wat u did at bosch ! so pls S*@t d f@%k up !

Dear Krishna,
First of all, one has to understand that the IGCC has no power in influencing any of the german companies, as it is a body that scavenges (makes a living) by only providing services to SOME of the german companies.
Coming to the IGCC's loss making venture (i.e IGTC), it is unheard of by majority of german companies itself, and the non-german companies (including few german companies) dont even know about the IGTC's parent body which is the IGCC.

so What you would end up after spending 18 months and 2.13 lacs is :
1. A pgpba which has no recognition what so ever.
2. you loose most importantly 18 months of time !
3. your salary and career growth if you are already working.

dont even think of joining IGTC's PGPBA, work on the standard management aptitude tests !
ALL THE BEST !

Dear Mba Freake
You might need professional help, i think i can help you. Try yoga and some forms of mental exercise. If you didn't get into igtc the first time you can always try again. Please do not comment on the competency of the director, at least the mumbai one. She's quite a strong woman and could easily kick your butt. Also wake up to the reality of other B schools. We share lecturers with some leading B schools and some of them have shared some facts about those B schools. Come visit us at mumbai some time i'll buy you lunch.

With lots of love and little respect

Hey puys,
I wanted to discuss about the IGTC and i found this thread,. so im continuin the old discussion,. I hope some pass outs and current students also take part in the discussion,.
Well,. Im from Mumbai and i have applied for the PGPBA @ Mumbai Campus.
I cleared the entrance exam (which was really very simple) and the Group Discussion in Mumbai.
I am waitin for the list of the companies which have short listed me for the interview process,. Already got an email from Lanxess India about the same,.
To throw some light on the training centre,.

1. It is a TRAINING CENTRE and not an educational institute so it DOES NOT give you any degree or diploma. What you really get is,.
A. Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration certified by the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC).
B. Industriekaufmann / Industriekauffrau* (industrial manager), jointly awarded by the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the IGCC, which is well recognized.

2. The candidates are interviewed and selected by the partnering companies,. almost 80% of the students are placed with the same company. (20% are interested in some other company or job profile or a mismatch between the two i.e. Company Requirement and the Candidate's Interest)

3. Talking about its credentials,. I have heard much about the Mumbai Centre,. I also had a word with one of their alumni who's now working with BASF as a Product Manager with a pretty decent salaray (>6L pa; after a year)

4. The students @ Mumbai Campus are really happy with the Quality of Education and Facilities. Though the infra is not that great> The institute looks like a corporate office rather than a BSchool. So dont expect a wonderful campus,. There are 2 classrooms, a library and 2 other rooms for administration.

5. The Director of the institute Ms Radhieka Mehta is indeed very supportive and helpful. The have all visiting faculty comin over but they are the best in class. (Senior Managers and Profs from reputed institutes in Mumbai)

6. One should opt for this program only if he is really interested in hardcore corporate training and a good placement. (DO NOT COME FOR THE SAKE OF DOING MBA)

7. I consider this program really different from all other MBA courses and personally I am quite impressed with the Mumbai Centre.

Lastly,. I have a query as well,.
I have been short listed for the PGDM Program (AICTE Approved) at FLAME, Pune. I am waitin for confirmations from other BSchools as well.
I am confused between
1. PGDM @ Flame, Pune
2. PGDM @ Chetna, Mumbai
3. IGTC, Mumbai.

I need your advice puys!!

Warm Regards,
Yash
HeLlo Friends..
This is Vrushali here,
I am currently pursuing my PGPBA in the Indo-German Training Centre, Chennai. Here is the True review of the Institue.
Faculty- The faculty is a experienced and a knowledgeable one. They have a vast knowledge in their respective field. We got a lot of insights from the faculty not only related to the course, but also relatd to the Corporate world - the realities. The Delivery of lectures is good, and satisfactory.

Interns - We have a small batch of 25 students for whch we hd a confirmed slot of 54 for the students to do interns, which means, there was a choice of minimum 2 companies. Luck ones were to have 3 - 4 choices.

Compnaies: there were Companies like SSIPL, BGR, BMW, Nippo batteries, MaFoi, bajaj Allianz, MAERSk logistics, Suzlon energy, Borkert India, Tecpro, Sundaram clayton(TVS group), Wealth Advisors, and many more......

Please feel free to contct me for more details.
