my 3 juniors (collegemates) have done this course and 1 is in germany for internship, 2 is in mumbai and 3rd one is wid Deutsche bank bnglore.. 2 are from banglre n 1 from mumbai.
he said also the same thing that plz go for mumbai not to banglr.
Now I am really very much confused what to do? should I go for this course and leave my current job or
should I go for distance program from IP university or FMS. please suggest..

hello seniors...nice to have read ur threds...i am a engineering graduate in the field of automobile...i came to know about igtc only a few weeks back...just want to know how good this is...i have a work a work experience of 6 months in a small production company and my aim is pursue masters in engineering management in germany...is it worth considering igtc chennai as an option...i kinda like this structure so i have bought an application form also need info about entrance exams conducted by them...pls help

Hi Megha,

Absolutely right! Good to know tht u did ur R&D; and u are serious abt the course. If u get Mumbai center go ahead and join....coz tht's wat I have been telling. And big NO for other centers as few of my friends stil there are finding it sad, though I left the course due to the poor organized way of governing at Blore center.

But one word of caution is this is not recognised by AICTE nor it is an educational institute ...due to which this PGP wil not be considered for higher studies like PhD and many companies.

If u want to know wat kind of project u get ...then plz PM me. I was placed at TUV Rheindland.

Please dont mistake me...I am not against IGTC, but my suggestion to u all is plz restrict ur option to Mumbai center only as IGTC has two more centers in Blore and Chennai which are not at par with Mumbai center and are not worth joining.

ATB

Things are changed buddy.......i found igtc bangalore a very nice place to full fill my dreams....your classmates has been working in reputed companies. i also got selected for siemens for internship.

Hey I am an Electronics and Telecom engineer, I am interested in Operations profile, Is an automobile engineering degree necessary for a manufacturing company? Also this year I am at home giving all the mba exams, will it affect my chances at Mumbai Centre.

Please reply

Can anyone give me any idea about the written exam please? How is the question slandered? Please give me advice. tx

Hi friends,

This is Akash from Chennai. I had completed my B.Tech Pharmaceutical Technology. I would like to pursue PGPBA from Chennai Center. I just want to know whether Pharma Companies are part of this Indo-German COC , and whether they get placed us in Pharma Companies. Basically, I want to specialize in my Core Field (Pharma) hence i am asking whether placements are there in Pharma Companies. Kindly share the details if any of you guys know.

Regards,
Akash

hi, i just visited igtc
it is not bad in terms of faculty and the progrm design is also very good
since recession is going on, they have a problem of placing their students
a frnd of mine was an intern at a company and she all of her internships were in diffrnt cities
moreover, the company which had chosen her did not provide accommodation or anything else as in conveyance or food she had to shell it out from her own pocket
even after working for 6 mnths so hard she has not been absorbd by the company
this is the case with most of the students, esp. the ones without wrk exp.

the program is a post graduate program, it is nt a degree what ppl misunderstand as MBA, nor is it a diploma (which is equivalent to an mba), it is a vocational post graduate program

last yr they had good placement
their program is not bad bt since it is not aicte approvd and european countries are not in a good state, it is not a good option till europe's economy comes up

Can anyone tell me the level of difficulty of the entrance exam?

@Akash_Aki if u r luking fr placements and u hav wrk ex. then any bschool (atleast teir 2 and 3 or if u manage to get a teir 1 or top) will can provide u good placements.
as far as i know, igtc mumbai is the best among all its campuses.
but even mumbai campus is seeing bad days in terms of placements as students arent getting good ones. so better u go for tiss or some other industry specific school.
@chi29 thanks a lot for your suggestion :)

Hey puys, I have completed my IGTC PGPBA (Batch 2011-13);

Long time back I had posted my ideas about IGTC when I was evaluating the institute.
Well, that was 2 yrs back.
Currently, I am placed a a good company (German of course) with a decent package (I don't know if it's appropriate to mention the company name, so I'm avoiding it)
I saw this thread and I am subscribing to it so that I can try to answer whatever questions you guys have.. I will start with the recent ones.. πŸ˜ƒ Hope it helps..
@kseven - Hey, as far as my knowledge is concerned, I don't think its mandatory to have a BTech/BE (Automobile) to get into a manufacturing or even an automobile company for that matter.
I have seen this in the previous years and in the current year also. (And I am talking about good companies). If you really have an inclination towards operations and you can convince the interviewer about the same then they would definitely give you a chance.
Also, as a part of the cross-functional training at IGTC you can get an opportunity to work with the Operations team (and/or other teams viz Marketing/Finance/HR) so that you can get a first hand experience. (All the candidates are put through this training)
My advice would be please don't waste a year studying for entrance exams, pursue some course or work somewhere while preparing for these exams.
Secondly, I don't know how far that will affect your chances.
Companies have their own hiring policies but if you can surely try to convince them that you are capable enough for the job.. :)
@neel77 - Well, the syllabus is more or less the same like other MBA entrance exams. If you have studied for any of the other exams like CMAT, CAT, SNAP, XAT NMAT etc you don't really have to do anything extra. In fact, the level of difficulty is a little lower than these tests I would say. They look at the overall candidate profile. The GD and PI is the most important part of the selection process.
@Akash_Aki - Hey there, if am not wrong, there are some pharma companies which are members of the IGCC, but I am not very sure how many of them come for placements at the Chennai centre.
If you are very sure about getting into pharma industry only, then please do call up the Chennai centre or go and meet them personally to discuss your future prospects.
I am sorry I don't think I have answered your question properly, but this is what i can suggest.. πŸ˜ƒ Wish you all the best
@Shruti1391 I hope this helps πŸ˜ƒ

@ybichu thanks for your wishes...btw i had met them in person but they dont have tie up with any pharma company it seems ...am on the lookout to do online now ..:) Anyways thanks for your reply πŸ˜ƒ cheers !!!

@Akash_Aki Not a problem. By the way, if you are very keen on pursuing your MBA with specialization in Pharma, NMIMS has a very good course. If you are ready to relocate to Mumbai then its a good opportunity. There are many other institutes also offering MBA (with specialization in Pharma Management). My advice would be try doing a full time course or a part time at least and not an online one. (just a personal suggestion) Wish you all the very best once again. πŸ˜ƒ
@chi29 - and @Everyone else interested in knowing more about IGTC (Mumbai)

The economic downturn has hit all the industries badly and it's also in the news that most of the B-Schools are facing this problem.
Please note one thing, THERE IS NO PROBLEM OF PLACING THE STUDENTS as such at IGTC. We have just completed our course a few days back and more than 70% of the class is placed. And mind you, all of us have been placed with good companies (with a decent package). Also, freshers are not facing any problem in particular like you mentioned.
Infact, some of the frehers got placed before the experienced ones. EVEN I AM A FRESHER and I got placed a month before we completed the course.
Talking about your friend; there are a few companies here wherein you have to relocate during your training stints or/and for your placement. BUT THIS IS VERY WELL COMMUNICATED DURING THE INTERVIEW PROCESS. But, as far as Mumbai campus is considered, more than 60-70% of the candidates train with Mumbai based companies. Also, most of the candidates who have to relocate, either have to go to Pune/Nasik/Bangalore (in most of the cases) there could be companies having other locations also.
Coming to accommodation and other expenses during the training stints. The trainees get a stipend (which I agree is not enough to manage all expenses) but it does help. As far as my case is concerned, I did not have to shell a lot of money from my own pocket. Also, the stipend is more for candidates who have to relocate.
Well, considering the case of your friend who did not get a placement with her training company, please try to understand a couple of things.
There are some companies who immediately hire the trainee after the 3rd training stint while there are other companies who come for the final interview process again to the campus for final placements.
Hence, its obvious that you have to prove yourself again during the interviews. So this is just like a normal placement process at any other college. IGTC does not claim that you will be definitely placed with the company where you train. This highly depends on your performance and your interview. I am very sure something might have gone wrong somewhere in your friend's case.
About the course (PGPBA)
As you have rightly mentioned, IGTC does not give an MBA Degree or a Diploma. But, the certifications that we get viz Post Graduate Programme in Business Administration (PGPBA) and Industrial Manager (German Qualification) is highly recognized in the industry. The companies that come for hiring trainees and for placements consider this certification equivalent to an MBA/PGDM (I have confirmed this with the HR of the organizations)
FYI, even ISB (Indian School of Business), Hyderabad and the IIMs DO NOT give a Degree or Diploma, there courses are also termed as PGPs – Post Graduate Programmes. (NO INTENTIONS OF COMPARING THE INSTITUTES, NAME MENTIONED ONLY TO PRESENT FACTS)

Placement Scenario

Last year the placement scenario was definitely better (for all the B-Schools including IGTC ofcourse), this year also its okay and not that bad. As I have mentioned before, we have just completed our course a few days back and more than 70% of the class is placed with good companies (with a decent package).

It's a myth that the placement scenario is greatly impacted by the European economy. There is a global economic slowdown and may companies are hit by this. This year also, many of the renowned german companies in India have absorbed candidates in different fucntions (freshers as well).
There are a couple of companies who have absorbed more than 3 candidates (And I am talking about big companies)
So you definitely cannot say that 'THE PLACEMENTS WOULD BE BAD TILL THE EUROPEAN ECONOMY COMES UP'.
Ultimately every candidate has to understand and realize what is best for him/her and take decisions accordingly.
Wish you guys all the very best. J
Finally, I respect your opinions also; I did not mean any offence. I am just trying to put my thoughts, which are based on facts. I have been a part of this institute and I can definitely vouch for whatever I am saying.

Feel free to PM me for any other doubts/queries.. :)
