Hw different is PGDFM from PGDM? Come on... it's a niche sector, and our alumni are very well-know in these areas all over the world, though the rest of the world may be oblivious to our existence! See, the areas we specialize in are such which have great demand... but they would definitlely not attract the same salary packages that other b-schools offer - jus because of the fact that we deal with more grounded stuff! But it's widely accepted that the job satisfaction that IIFMites get is on a significantly higher notch than that of other b-school grads.
The career you make out of IIFM is entirely your own. I mean, spend the time here, rite from day one, in discovering ur area of interest. Once you find it, try to learn as much about it as possible. Resources are plentiful in IIFM... but as I said earlier somewhere, no one's gonna come to you with it. It's up to u to search it out. I tell u my own case... this entire year, I've hardly studied... but I've learnt a lot. Because I knew what I had come here for, and spent some time exploring that area of interest. Of course, not everyone who comes to IIFM will know what to do post-IIFM. But that is all the more reason to discover ur interests, rite? Like... U r a compu science grad... maybe u would look into GIS applications in modeling weather data for developing weather derivatives! This is how I see it... it's up to u to further explore...

i am not sure if i am entitled enough to comment at your post but i will tell u one thing. look at IIFM in an absolute manner. comparisons with other b skools with regards to plcmnts and pay packages wont help because this place is Heaven if your interested in what the college deals with.
if ur thinking whether to choose IIFM or L n T Info and den deciding i guess that shouldn't be the way..
i would suggest go thru the website, read up on the sectors the college deals with and of course Sid and gang with their opinions are always there to guide us and den decide if you wanna take the plunge..
P.S. this is not advice or sermonisations!! just plain suggestions!! welcome to IIFM if u decide to Dive in. 😃 else all the best for whatever rest

We'r supposed to return by 10 in the nite, wherever we go. At least for the first few mths, follow it strictly, or u could be in trouble... N u will b able to go out quite often, no issues...

Go for Dell inspiron series. prices are very cheap, n gr8 multimedia experience. n about roaming around in Bhopal, sorry mate, IIFM gates are closed after 10 pm in nite,, specially for juniors. Warden is very strict about this.
