IIFM (Indian Institute of Forest Management ) Bhopal : Queries Help desk

Well, that's a funny question, Supratik, abt the attire! U don't expect ppl expected to be in touch with the grassroots ruminating in formals, do u??? Sometimes, some of us get up so late that we even land up in pyjamas! U get the point, rite? Neways, don't try out these antics in the initial days at least! Of course u can always go in ur tees and jeans rite from day one, but some professors really care about the clothes we wear for presentations! So hold back when that time comes!

We have fairly good in-house sports facilities (TT, football & badminton historically, n the newly inaugurated tennis court... n ample space for cricket), and as far as competitions go, u could always keep ur eyes open for ne national/regional sports competitions, n get the Insti's nod to represent it. Among various other clubs, we have Sports Club & Literary Club, which keep organizing intra-IIFM competitions. I tell u, so many things will keep happening, that if u participate in all, get ready to listen to the professors' naggings! IIFM really encourages students going out to participate in inter-college competitions... newhere in India. Last year many of us represented IIFM in various Management Fests, n won in some too! Opportunities are ever open... no one will stop you... but no one will spoon-feed u either! Discover, inform, give time for formal processes to finish, n live ur dreams!

I m really loathe to speak nething much regarding placements or internship here. I mean, many good things have happened this year with our internships - more than 2/3rd of the batch has been placed thru interviews (as against the usual trend of merit-based allocation). More students have found internships in areas of their interest, consequently. Newer organizations have taken us... n older ones have reaffirmed their faith in us. Much more mainstream projects have also come up - on SCM, for e.g. Bank of Baroda even offered us internships for their mainstream areas (finance, HR, operations, etc., not the microfinance part), though we didn't follow it up (no one was excited enough!). What we were not happy with was that processes became a little too late, coz many organizations refused jus coz their vacancies were already filled. That's what we want to rectify this year... space out events, so that there's less clutter n more distribution. That's all, on the internship's part.

Some part of ur query's still unanswered, rite? Will update later... have already written a lo........ng one.

Ciao!

was going thru the 2nd list for the gen category and i saw 16 more calls so i guess some 34/35 initially have confirmed their seats for the college. 😃

HI

It is praveen

Got a query

is it allowed to keep a vehical (bike) in the campus?

one more thing what r the timings of classes and no of days per week.

thanx

yeah, bikes are allowed... we have a parking space outside the hostel, if u would've noticed. Classes r officially from 8.30 morn to 3 afternoon with an hour break for lunch. Could be less or more, depending on faculty/student convenience and guest lecture schedules. Weekends off!

Sid the Saviour to the rescue again. :)

wat about holidays Sid? :new_bat_angel:
