WHen is the result expected and how many call letters do they send ?

IIFT results are generally out at around 10th of april so just chill out till that time
till 2 years back there was concept of single list ( of around 150 PPL) and NO further waitlists
However last year tradition was broken and there were 100+ calls in first roubnd followed by some waitlists
One more thing about the DELHI round
even though you might see some of the IIFTians to give a boost to your moral but the whole faculty is here and the toughest profs also find time from their busy schedules to come up and SEE people...........

Hello Sumit, are u sure about the result dates..I was under the impression that results wud be out by end march latest .Please let me know if they are confirmed...better still if u can enquire from ur office. Thankx in advance..

After my SIBM hopes turned negative, I called IIFT to check when the results are coming(on March 1st).
They asked among themselves(a lady who attended the call, and coule of other voices were heard), and said 3 week of March....
Now, loosing all hopes after a reject from TAPMI .....
Feeling pissed off and pessimistic.............. will IIFT reject me like it did last year, a sense of anticipation and deja vu....:-(

dont loose hope, me 2 in the same boat, after dismal CAT Performance, did not go 4 TAPMI and MICA innterviews and did not send 750 ka draft 2 NMIMS, rejected by SIBM, IIFT is my last and final hope too.
dont be pessimistic have de confidence dat u shall be through. IF things really turn bad, begin wid a new slate and bell the CAT 2005 and who knows u may make it to the mecca of Management education itself

IIFT is the one insti that called me last year and this year tooo.....

Hi ppl.... had my interview today in Chennai along with Gaurab.
Started off with an essay on "Children on the information highway"... all of 20 minutes for that.
Then had a GD on "Do we really need FDI?" Each of us spoke for about a minute initially,and then it was an open discussion. Quite an orderly GD on the whole... everybody got a chance to speak. Lasted an hour.
Then went on to the PI's... was second to be interviewed. The panel had 4 people on it, one lady and three gents. Quite a friendly lot..... didn't pressure me too much. Some of the q's I got were:
1) What are the two best things about you? (asked a few q's based on my answer)
2) If I were to ask you to speak for a minute on international business and it's implications, what would you say?
3) Do you think a knowledge of international business is essential for everyone?
4) Do you think there's a growing awareness of the need for commerce education? (am a b.com grad)
5) Describe the nature of the job u held and the reponsibilities involved.
6) Did your acctng background help you at work? (said yes)
7) Give a few examplesTell us what you know about WTO and it's functions
Moved on to extra curric.... was a mag editor in coll
9) Tell us something about the magazine you brought out
10) How many ppl worked with you?
11) Why do you need your juniors to work on a job like this?
12) How did you go about it?
13) can you give us the name of a scientific method of ordering events and executing them? (smiled blankly and sweetly and said no:) )
14) Did you face a situation where you felt compelled to show some favouritism?
15) have you ever faced an ethical dilemma, where you stood to gain by committing a misdeed? (said no, worst i did was bribe a watchman with 20 bucks
They then thanked me and told me I could leave..... took around half an hour all together. This is all I can remember right now...... hope it helps all those who're preparing for their rounds.... good luck ppl!

keeping finger crossed! how long ur interview went on? and how was the GD? myine one took place on 18th feb.. when was urs?

Me not from Calcutta...u sounded like mistaken...on this..
2 gentlemen whoe were for the GD were one Dr Pinaki Das Gupta , the other one dun know as he does not seem to be in the faculty list. 2 more gentelmen came for the GD PI, so making it a total of 4 in the panel....
I could identify just one as a facu from the website....
No Mr.Verma as a faculty as per the webpage... they dint introduce temselve4s, so no way I could get their names..

Your posts remind me of the days when we had points for posting....
There is an option called edit , where in you can chip in later, if no one has posted in the thrd..
Do not spam, u posted 3 times the same thing.... Do not misuse a facility extended to u..... Do not waste PG(Allwin)'s server space(money)....
And the best part is ur location shows that u r from New Delhi, u shud be knowing better abt IIFT and the results....
Keep koool, du not use the forums to translate ur frustration and desperation(?). Lots of us , including me are desp.....stilll.. we dont do this....

hey ppl asked an iift alumni according to him results are out in 7-8 days after the last interview.so any idea wen is the last interview delhi interviews end ard 13th mar.

Just be clear on why IIFT ...basically the first question on the form.......read your form over and over again most questions will be directly from there.....gyaan on WTO/World Bank/IMF/TRIPS/EXIM &FORIEGN; Policy is a bonus...
