It's an intersting debate going on here in IIFT group đ  Let me also dive in and give my 2 cents, based on all that I had researched and interactions with people I know in both the campuses. đÂ
IIFT K vs NM/SIBM P/New IIMs

I have already posted all the "authentic" rankings by all the coaching institutes.. Â
- IIFT K is ranked 15th by GP (He ranks different courses in a college with a different number, so a higher ranking number).Â
- NM/SIBM is ranked 23rd
- All new IIMs ((Except ranchi in late 20s)
Now, that's a gap of good 8-15 colleges in ranking between IIFT K and others colleges ,people are actively comparing here with! That means you are looking at..at least 7-8 colleges/courses after IIFT K before even starting your comparisions with these bschools I mentioned.
Let us take a look at the numbers::
- NM Median : 10.5 lpa for 561 students according to NIRF data. You can say that almost half of the batch must have got salaries in single digit lpa figures for 2014-16 batch.
- SIBM P: Out of 202 offers, only 132 are above 12 lpa. Â Meaning 70+ got less than 12 lpa.
- New IIMs: Except ranchi, all are struggling to place the batch. The avg packages have been in the range of 10-13 lpa for almost all the new IIMs with many people unplaced/or get jobs after placement report declaration.
- IIFT K: Though difficult to disaggregate from IIFT D, Â last year somebody floated student-package wise placement data with names mentioned for IIFT K in our IIFT K waitlist group.People who were in the group last year and are here on PG will confirm you that It said 14.something lpa as MEDIAN package and a much higher avg package. I had confirmed that from my friend who studied there and he agreed that the data are correct.
Also, if you happen to know anyone from these b schools, please ask about their summer placements. A good number of people have to do internships without any stipend (or as low as 5-10k per month) in New IIMs/NM/SIBM P. For the current batch IIFT K/D, the min stipend I know, through a lot of contacts I made by being in waitlist group last year, was 20k per month.
So, that's not a tough decision when you compare with these colleges. In a sane mode, when looking objectively, all the above colleges would be out of contention when compared with IIFT. IIFT K is a winner from everybody's perspective - Data, Coaching Rankings, Seniors, peers. Â Except by some people here on PG.

IIFT K vs D debate:
Well, from my friend's persepctive in IIFT K, when IIFT K started there were lot of discrimination, but as the batch size grew and as they started having more participation in IIFT's students activities, like clubs and committees, they started getting equa treatment.

P.S: I couldnl't convert IIFT K last year and may not join IIFT K this year as well, waitlisted for an old IIM, will hopefully convert. But I had researched a lot on IIFT K (and other b schools) last year and wanted to join. So, know a few things and have a lot of time đ All the  best.
