Batch of around100 students get placements in the top Indian and International companies with the salary packages touching an all time high of 10.6 lacs nationally and 100,000$ internationally.
In an outstanding achievement, the graduating batch of MBA (International Business) of The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) reaffirmed the institutes capability to produce global managers in the field of International Business. Placement 2006 witnessed a record high annual domestic salary and international salary of Rs 10.6lacs and US$ 100,000 respectively. There is an average increase of 10 percent than last years placement figures. The placement day witnessed 10 percent of the students being offered overseas jobs.
The comparative data for the last three years show a significant increase in the salary packages. The average this year has been more than 8 lacs per annum as compared to 7.28 lacs in 2005 and 5.89 lacs per annum in 2004. The highest individual salary in 2004 was 7 lacs per annum, in 2005 it was 9.50 lacs per annum and this year (2006) it has touched the 10.6 lac mark.
The placement day started with less than the full strength as 20 percent of the batch had already received pre-placement offers (PPOs) well before the placement week started. The placements witnessed a vast interest of companies from different sectors Like FMCG, Banking, Consulting, IT, Pharmaceutical, Trading and Logistics. Leaders like Colgate Palmolive, ITC, Nestle, Godrej, Dabur, ICICI, UTI, SBI, Infosys, Accenture, IBM, HP, AV Birla Group, Bharti and DHL were present to recruit the best in the field of International Business. In all there were 75 companies present to recruit around 100 candidates.

Congrats to all IIFT junta (even who're 1st year and even to the people with calls...)a growth of 40+% in average salary over three years ....commendable guess have something more to be inspired from for the GD/PI......
