When will the results for R1 come out? The site says last week of November. Any idea about the result date of last year?
An on-campus, trustworthy source informed that round-1 final list shall be updated late night today (between 2300 & 2400 hours) as final round of interviews got over today. Keeping fingers crossed!

R1 selected candidates, I am sure you have many questions to ask now, albeit different ones from before. Why not make a Whatapp group, set up a google doc and collect all your questions? Will make it easy for us in the current batch to help you guys out.

On Waitlists.
Hello folks, here are my thoughts on waitlists and rounds and my perception on how the IIMA admissions system might work. Please note that current students are not privy to any admissions process and at best are speculating based on the cumulative experience of admissions process of their batchmates. Open to my comments being corrected:
1. Round 1 always gives you a better shot at applications
2. IIMA has a set profile of the class in mind and goes through candidates in the two rounds trying to fill up these rounds.
3. There would definitely be a quota to be just to the round 2 candidates but the prospects for round 2 candidates might increase if there are not enough seats filled up by candidates in round 2. The converse might also be true.
4. Please do not extrapolate based on previous year's results. It is pretty hard to say if a certain waitlist number will get in.
5. On the above topic, my sense is that if a candidate who is offered a seat drops out, the replacement of the seat is with someone who has a similar profile. In that context, WL#2 who is from say a defense background might get in ahead of WL#1 who is from an IT background if a candidate with a defense background who was offered a seat drops out.
6. Hence, dont feel bad if someone below you in the waitlist got in and you didnt; it is not perhaps a miscarriage of justice.
7. The best way to beat this anxiety, specially if you are in the waitlist is to go off pagalguy and do other important stuff in life. Believe me, the discussions will end up being too much of a distraction :)
8. IIMA will probably have the least drop-outs as it is usually the first choice for most candidates.
