Converted IIM A PGPX Round 1
1. Want an idea of re-funding options
First Commitment fee - 2 lakhs to submit by 26th Dec
Second Commitment fee - 9 lakhs to submit by 23rd Jan

Hello helpful people out there... Considering applying to the IIMA PGPX program the coming year and needed some external input on a few questions...any answers/brickbats will be appreciated.
A) Would a profile like mine be of interest to the admissions committee? As of March 2018, I would have been working in International Business Development for 9 years with an Indian Pharmaceutical services firm, the last 3.5 of which are based from their offices in Boston. Chemical Engineer from Anna University (8.7 GPA), MBA from IIFT (3.23/4 GPA), 12th 91%, 10th 85%. Certifications from Chicago Booth in Strategic Selling, University of California San Diego in Drug Discovery, Development and Commercialization. Keen quizzer at college and corporate level. Won quite a few. Failed practitioner of many many sports and a nascent 'social justice' volunteer with an immigrant body in Boston as I unfortunately live in the time of Mr. Trump. GMAT is 710 but can be improved. Is the prior MBA a turn off....and how common is it across batches?
B) From most of the other discussions, feedback I can make out that placements for someone wanting to switch industries is difficult. I am very keen on remaining in the pharmaceutical space but have made zero headway in shifting to a product firm from a services firm in the past few years within the industry, as understandably, the skill set is quite different. I've gone through the current batch profile and I think I spotted 4 people with a pharma background in the current batch. Apart from last years recruiters, I did not see other pharmaceutical companies recruting from campus from the previous placement reports. Is this program not a sweetspot for candidates like me? I know it's ridiculously presumptive of me to be asking for placement guidance before I've even applied, but getting into IIM-A is something I've aspired to from class 10th....Did not make it the first time around as I could not bell the cat but my entire experience over the last 8 years has been shaped based on what I felt could get me into IIM A PGPX. It is a sad obsession - so much so that even my wife and 1 year old will vouch for it :) so I am really trying hard to temper my enthusiasm with some cold hard facts. Any information would be useful.
Thank you kind people who made it this far!
