Let's start tweeting from tomorrow at some fixed time. This careless attitude is not acceptable from such prestigious institutes. They have kept us in blind for a long time.Everyone has other options , backups and their delay is jeopardising every other decision. We need to get some official response now in next 24 hrs. Prayers and petitions are not working anymore time for protests.
What do you guys think the first list cut-off would be for GEN candidates looking at the google spreadsheet responses so far? Do you think it can be trusted because initially it seemed there would be a lot more students with C.S>54 (atleast 40).
I think if they wanted to take online interviews, they would have done so by now. I think they are waiting to conduct offline interviews. It's gonna be offline or direct selection. I won't have a chance with direct selection, still, if they announce something, people can go for alternatives.
Should we send a group mail to all the concerned mail ids by collecting mail ids of shortlisted students?
Got an email that the admission process is affected due to a writ petition filed against online exam in high court. They are fighting the case and will update soon.
Is there any way to verify the information given by ISI in recent mail. Any database where all writs are maintained? I could not find any article regarding this writ.
Hello,
All the candidates who appeared for the written test of PGDBA held on 16 February 2020, please fill the following details. This form is being circulated in order to show support to ISI Kolkata about the fair decisions made regarding the issues faced during PGDBA-2020 written test.
Hello/Namaste
All the candidates who appeared for the written test of PGDBA held on 16 February 2020, I was on also one of the candidates who appeared for the exam.
I did not face any kind of issue nor did anyone at my center. My exam went well and considering the key and expected cut-off announced by various coaching institutes, I was pretty sure I’ll make it through, I had even started preparing for interview. I had worked really hard to prepare for this exam as I was out of touch from Maths for 6 years.
When I answer-key was released I was shocked , so many issue, which I raised and being such prestigious institutes I expected them to resolve the issue.
But when they gave 15 marks to all I was shocked, I will be honest I missed by a small margin, and wrote mails to them how it was unfair but to no heed, then I got busy due to corona and today I got to know about this case.
Honestly I still feel cheated but i thought what I can do against such big institutes, RIGHT!!!
But now I feel that like me there would be many who feel wronged by this grace mark, HOW???
My simple explanation would be that I have been not compensated for time I spent on that section, remember I told you I missed by a small margin.
The expected cut-off was lesser than last year(105) but it’s gone way beyond, I guess (111-112) that’s what different telegram group state.
I feel that I should have crossed the line easily rather than missing it so closely and only the institutes are to be blamed, now reading about this petition gives me hope, I really don’t know what will happen or what they want.
But I do know one thing,
The current published Result is UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!
Most of the people here including me have been talking about the alternative which in each case turns out to be unfair. Lets think from the institute's point of view. How do they make sure that the process is fair for all??
Dear Dexterbot, Hello/Namaste. On behalf of the 556 or so call getters, let me provide a line-by-line reply to the rant you did below. I was one of the candidates who appeared for the PGDBA exam on 16th February, 2020. I did not face any glitch, nor did the people in my centre who I spoke to after the test. I was pretty sure (just like you) that I will make it through, even I had started preparing for the PI, I had left my job for this, was out of touch with maths for many years (just like you), and worked REAL hard (just like you). When the answer key was published, I was shocked (just like you). When they gave 15 marks to everyone, I was shocked again (just like you), afraid the cutoff would rise, and hence, the competition. But (unlike you), I believed in myself that I would clear the cutoff, free marks or no free marks. And as for the "unfair" scores, I believed it can be offset with a little more extra hard-work for the next stage - the PI. Little did I know that soomeone somewhere who didn't get shortlisted because he "lost precious time" in his favourite DI section would find hard digesting the fact that 500+ students scored better than him. I could say that I felt cheated, given that I could've spent the time in DI section somewhere else and scored even more, right? But here's where anyone who has given sufficient mock tests / real PGDBA exam would disagree with your claims: 1. The DI section in PGDBA is, traditionally, the easiest section, even by high school standards. Awarding full marks in DI section would not have made a difference, as it is a piece of cake 🍰 to score 5/5 in DI anyways. 2. As for the "time" you speak of you wasted, let me remind you that the PGDBA exam is famed for testing a candidate's intelligence, rather than how fast he/she can solve the paper (unlike CAT). This is the reason why any average person can complete the paper with more than 15-20 minutes to spare, with ease, and still find time to revise his/her answer sheet one, maybe two more times. 3. For the unfortunate souls who got the wrong options available to their answers in the DI set, there was ample amount of time to consult the invigilator, get going to the next section to come back later to the DI section when you were done with other sections' questions first. In real life, things can throw you off balance, but you gotta take it as a test of how well one manages the situation. (& ask yourself this : would you, like, really have solved more questions if you had the time?) 4. Most student around me (myself including) were sitting idle for the final 15-20 minutes, done with the examination. I didn't know how to answer 3 questions in quant, but I knew the extra time won't help me. I know tens of other fellow shortlisted candidates, who got this mix up, still managed to score respectable 120 even 130+ in the test. The current result has the nearest semblance to being fair to the glitch in answer options done by ISI. If you want to make yourself feel better, then fine. Call the result unfair. And the very best of luck to you going on with your life with that attitude.
Hello all This page had been my source for information related to the PIs. But the recent posts make me feel disappointed. Not because some petitioners filed a case but because of our reaction to it. India is a democracy and "we, the people" have made it a democracy. This means that if there is even 1 person who feels wronged, he or she has every right to ask questions and seek justice. And this is something which needs to be encouraged rather than ridiculed because this is what will protect our democratic values. There are 3 parties on the case that has been filed. The 3rd one, which we have not talked about, is the judicial system. If you want to be angry, vent out on the judicial system. The court should have made provisions given the urgency of this matter. So it is the court that should bear the brunt of our anger, not someone who already feels wronged. It is possible that someone may have felt lack of time during the exam. Be humble, be kind and fill forms to urge the judiciary to fast-track this, if that is even possible.
Now that I'm left with no option other than pgdba, please suggest me what do now
- Live peacefully without writing any of these competitive exams
- Start preparing for cat 2020(although no motivation for this now)
- Prepare for pgdba 2021 online exam
- Prepare for pgdba interview

People have been writing super long posts about how we should side with petitioners, here are my 2 cents on why the reality is much more complicated than that.
The test has 50 questions to anwer in 180 mins so it doesnt matter if 5 questions were incorrect for you and not for someone else, or if you unnecesarily spent time on those questions and others didnt. You were liable/supposed to spend time on all 50 in 180 mins. Period. The fact that DILR questions were scrapped doesnt matter as the exam had given you adequate time to attempt all questions.
Now coming to the point people getting extra marks even though they didnt deserve it, so what ISI did by awarding 15 marks to everyone is not different from not counting those questions altogether. Its basic maths to understand, adding more 15 marks to all students still woundn't change the top 550 people shortlisted and same way regarding removing 15 marks.
Now I can understand the facts put forth in the court document regarding 1% ratio of applicants to seat and 15% of paper being incorrect. But that is the harsh reality it isnt the problem. Every year that 1% number will rise to decline unless they increase seats accordingly. And DILR in PGDBA is not a deal breaker, it has always been the most scoring and easiest, but i wont make assumptions of the 550 shortlisted getting it all correct.
The only option for ISI is to not consider DILR questions by not counting the marks or by giving grace marks, either way it doesnt matter. For people who are still below cutoff even with 15 grace marks, there has been no injustice against you specifically, its just the reality, you are not in top 550.
I think ISI should move forward with current shortlist and conduct intetviews. Given the outcry about some "undeserving" candidates being shortlisted , the INTERVIEW will be the best filter given the circumstances.
Scrapping the batch/ re-conducting the exam doesnt bode well for the program and the institutes which will degrade the image of the PGDBA brand and affect the placements and future scope for atleast one passing out batch, so this way would be counter-productive for the petitioners and all of us.
Can someone DM me the Telegram group's invite link. I've accidentally exited it last night. Thanks in advance.
Please anyone solve
Guys, do any of you know of a good online coaching I can get for CAT??
Guys I don't really understand why the same person(Arjun Krishna) is make repetitive attempts at getting people to fill a Google form. He is changing his name from time to time on different social media handles and propagating his agenda and this time too he plans on filing a petition again. As a citizen of the country you have the right to file a petition and the case is already going on in court . But the cheap things you are doing right now show that your intentions are darker. In a recent post on PG which he deleted recently, with a new user id, he posted a Google form opposing the exam results. I commented that a person called Arjun Krishna has the same problems. My comment was deleted immediately. Following this he appeared on telegram with the user id rashtraraj(earlier Arjun Krishna CU) . He posted the same link here. If you feel you are right then why resort to such cheap acts? Why do you want to file a petition again? Did you not pay enough attention the first time you filed a petition? Did you miss out on any points in the previous petition? Is it because you are unemployed, you want to get ISI to reconduct the exam? I am just saying what needs to be said. I don't intend on hurting anyone, it's just that there are people playing dirty games under the hood of justice.
Hi All,
It would be really helpful if someone could share the telegram/.... group link so that i can join it for easily accessiblity of PGDBA Updates.
Thanks in advance
https://www.calcuttahighcourt.gov.in/Notice-Files/CL/2830 (Page 4) According to this IIM-C filed a case against the current petitioners and tomorrow's the hearing. Couldn't find any record of previous hearings, so this must be the first one. Anyone up for cross-check?
Even if the authorities win the petition, will interviews really be there?
